Soul Friends had a wonderful visitor today Senator Cicarella came to learn more about animal assisted services/psychotherapy and how our programs have helped over 10,000 children and families, including veteran and first responder families. We are very grateful for your support and interest in the healing benefits of the human-animal bond to improve emotional wellness and overall healing. So many dogs helping - in times of tragedy I always listen to the wise words of Mr Rogers "wait for the helpers to come" - and these dogs did help. And then there is the seeing eye dog who walked his blind companion down flights of stairs. Dogs are helpers. Dogs are healers. Dogs are best friends and dogs are soul friends.

On National Grief Awareness Day Becca and I spent the day at the farm in our grant partnership with the The Cove Center for Grieving Children equine family program and the healing was just so heart-felt. It is an honor to comfort those in grief, and in my years working in hospice and as a young, widowed mom - to be comforted while in pain mattered so deeply.
