✨ You made it through this year. ✨
Not because it was easy, not because everything fell into place,
but because you kept going.

We’ve witnessed so many stories of resilience this year: quiet mornings when getting out of bed was the victory, boundaries that felt scary to set but were honored anyway, grief that softened over time, joy that surprised you when you thought it was gone for good, healing that didn’t come all at once but showed up in small, steady ways.

If you’re reading this, we hope you pause for just a moment and feel proud of yourself.
For what you survived, for what you learned, and for the parts of you that kept whispering, “try again.”

We don’t enter a new year as brand-new people or broken people;
we enter carrying what we’ve grown through,
rooted deeper, branching wider, still becoming.

Here’s to tending the pieces of yourself that need care,
celebrating the parts that bloomed,

These past few days, maybe even this whole year, may feel like everything is shifting beneath your feet. Policies are changing. Tensions are rising. You might be feeling scared, angry, heartbroken, exhausted.

You are not overreacting.
You are not too much.
You are not alone.

At Ember and Bloom, we believe your feelings deserve a safe space now more than ever. Whether you’re feeling helpless, numb, overwhelmed, or unsure how to move forward, know this: Your emotional responses are valid. Your care work, rest, and resistance — all of it matters.

🌕 If you’re looking for ways to ground yourself:
    •    Pause and breathe deeply.
    •    Reach out to a safe person.
    •    Limit doomscrolling (even just for an hour).
    •    Come back to your body: stretch, sip water, feel your feet on the ground.

Meet Sara!

We’re thrilled to welcome Sara to the Ember & Bloom team.

Sara is a compassionate therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults through life’s many ups and downs. From inpatient and intensive outpatient care to private practice, she brings a warm, grounded presence to every space she’s in - and now she’s here with us.

She is passionate about creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel truly seen and heard. Sara supports individuals navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, and grief. She blends cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and art therapy techniques to tailor sessions to each unique individual.

Outside the therapy room, Sara enjoys iced coffee, cozy playlists, and embracing life’s small joys. She believes everyone has the power to heal and grow, and she’s here to help you tap into that inner strength.

Here at Ember and Bloom, we want to gently remind you: it’s okay to step away from the news when it starts to feel like too much.
In times of uncertainty, heartbreak, or overwhelm, caring for your mental health is essential.

You’re allowed to:
🌿 Take breaks from headlines
🌿 Set limits around your media intake
🌿 Feel whatever emotions are coming up
🌿 Focus on small, grounding things within your reach

Juneteenth is a recognized holiday to celebrate the emancipation of the last group of enslaved African Americans. Although this holiday represents a lot more than that. Our current world is surrounded by oppression and cruelty. But this holiday is a reminder of how strong you are and how valuable your voice is. Be loud and Be proud. 

Opal Lee, a teacher and activist, empowered and inspired many by working hard to make this a federal holiday in 2021. Thank you Opal Lee. 

Unfortunately though, that same year the US experienced an epidemic of extreme targeting of trans and particularly transgender people of color. This devastating reminder should give even more reason to stand together. There are so many advocates that have continually worked hard to defend, raise awareness, and give voices to many. Thank you: Marsha P. Johnson, Kylar Broadus, and Audre Lorde. As well as many trailblazers for black mental health including Francis Sumner, Erica Woodland, and Jacki McKinney. There are so many more, thank you to them all and Happy Juneteenth!

As one of the first global Black superstars, she used her platform to fight for civil rights, challenge societal norms, and live authentically in her identity. Her courage, resilience, and unapologetic expression continue to inspire us to embrace every part of who we are.
