Suppression is a common coping strategy that helped us survive the past. You may have learned that your emotions were too overwhelming to bear, unsafe to feel or counterproductive to show others.
As a result, we suppress our feelings in an attempt to stay in connection with our family, friends, or loved ones.
Healing modalities that value insight are just the tip of the iceberg. Below the surface lies a wealth of information that our body and nervous system holds onto and stores over time.
When we address the part of the iceberg that’s beneath the surface, we tend to and befriend parts of ourselves (our body) and reclaim our younger selves in the most sacred way.
We learn how to feel into our bodies again and listen to the adaptive action strategies that emotions have to offer us.
In the past, we couldn’t feel our feelings, but today, we can relearn to land safely in our bodies while maintaining those connections in a much healthier way.
