OT Month Team Spotlight!✨ Part 1 of 2. We are grateful for our OT team here at SPG and their important work that helps their clients live their lives to the fullest! In that spirit, we decided to catch up with some members of our OT team and get to know them and their work within the field.
Meet Erin, one of our SPG OTs🙌
What brought you to the field?:
"I was initially drawn because it combines creativity, problem-solving, clinical reasoning, and functional outcomes to support meaningful impact and help people build independence in their daily lives. What has really kept me passionate about the field is the privilege of meeting each individual exactly where they are and supporting them in reaching their fullest potential. I see it as an honor to be a part of that process where growth can look different for every person."
What do you wish people understood about occupational therapy?:
"Occupational therapy is a holistic, person-centered field. We look at the whole person - their strengths, challenges, environment, and personal goals to ultimately support access, participation, and independence in a functional and lasting way. It is truly a privilege to be able to support individuals, their families, and the broader community in a way that promotes independence, confidence, equity, and quality of life. OT is about empowering people to reach their potential and that is what makes the field so impactful."
