Not wanting to see others go through the trouble she did alone, she obtained her Personal Trainer and Nutritionist Certifications in 2013 to help others in their journey of health and happiness. In 2014 the Natural Beauty and Body Blog was launched with workouts, nutrition tips, and product reviews in health and beauty. 2015 brought Natural Solutions from DoTerra essential oils into the newly formed SamTalia which encompassed fitness, nutrition, and natural health alternatives. In recent years Samantha has began speaking out raising awareness on normalizing mental and emotional wellness, sharing from her personal experiences and developing inclusive platforms for people and companies to feel safe and comfortable addressing these issues we all face. She's continued educational certifications to support this cause, including becoming a Certified Holistic Life Coach, Fitness Nutritionist, and Corporate Wellness Coach. πŸ’†πŸ½β€β™‚οΈWhile we're on the subject of sweating to detoxify, let's talk about the sauna. Used for centuries for cleansing and ceremonies, a sauna session can help you feel surprisingly refreshed and wonderfully relaxed.
Sometimes when I don't feel like working out, I'll sit for 20 minutes in the sauna. If I feel gross, I'll sit in the sauna. After a workout. If I'm feeling agitated. Lethargic. Depressed. Really, anytime I want to feel a bit better physically and mentally and as long as it's not already in the triple Fahrenheit digits, sauna time is a great option.

The heat helps increase circulation, releases endorphins, and can even help with muscle soreness and tension.
Many gyms have saunas, or you can find sauna studios in many cities. If you have access to one, give it a try. Bring water, start with shorter sessions, and notice how you feel afterward.

Baths may seem like a luxury we don't have time for. That's one reason why they can end up feeling so special.

This is especially helpful in the winter months, in my opinion, when SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) starts to creep in for some.
SAD occurs usually when the days are shorter, darker, and colder.

During the first year of the pandemic in the San Francisco East Bay Area, going out for walks or jogs in the sun really helped me shake off a bit of that cooped-up feeling.
It doesn't have to be anything major. In fact, I believe the most important walks are the ones that are the most difficult to start: just being able to get out of your house for 10 minutes can be a huge step in the right direction.

Without taking those first few steps, it's difficult to move on to bigger ones. Fresh air and not feeling so confined can have a positive effect on your mental well-being.

Walking outside has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety, and can help clear your mind into more productive thinking.
A brisk walk releases endorphins which contribute to a positive mood. For stressful days, sad times, or when your brain feels like it's running all over the place, taking a walk is a great way to reset.
