🤝 Partnership Announcement

COPE Family Support is proud to announce our new partnership with Contra Costa County Probation under AB 109 programming, expanding access to parent education and reunification therapy services for parents involved in the justice system.

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to rehabilitation, family stability, and prevention. By providing evidence-based parent education and therapeutic support, we are helping parents strengthen relationships with their children, support safe reunification, and reduce future system involvement.

Families are central to successful reentry. When parents are supported with the right tools and services, outcomes improve—for children, for families, and for the broader community.

We are grateful to Contra Costa County Probation for their partnership and trust, and we look forward to the impact this work will have on the families we serve.

✨ January was Positive Parent Awareness Month—and C.O.P.E. Family Support Center did not let it pass quietly! ✨

Throughout the month, COPE proudly elevated the critical role parents and caregivers play in shaping safe, healthy, and thriving families. Positive parenting is prevention, and prevention is powerful.

This January, we were honored to:
• Celebrate Positive Parent Awareness Month (PPAM) by lifting up evidence-based parent education and the families who show up every day to do the hard work of parenting.
• Present at the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors meeting, marking our 7th consecutive year advocating for and celebrating PPAM at the county level.
• Host our 2nd Annual Parent Appreciation Night at our office—an evening filled with gratitude, connection, and recognition of the dedicated parents we serve and the committed staff who walk alongside them.
• Spearhead a powerful moment of advocacy as Assemblymember Anamaria Avila-Farias authored a resolution recognizing PPAM and read it on the California State Assembly floor (1/28/2026), affirming that parent education and prevention matter at the highest levels of government.

Moments like these remind us that when families are supported upstream, communities are safer, children are stronger, and systems are more effective.

Deep gratitude to our parents, staff, partners, and champions who continue to push this work forward, not just in January, but all year long.
Let’s keep investing in parents because strong families build strong futures!

📚 Childhood education doesn’t start at kindergarten.
It starts at home.

At COPE Family Support, we know that when parents and caregivers are supported, informed, and empowered, children thrive.

The evidence is clear:
✔️ Evidence-based parent education reduces child abuse and neglect
✔️ Lowers behavioral health crises and system involvement
✔️ Improves school readiness and long-term outcomes

Programs like Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) show strong returns on investment by preventing costly crises before they happen.

And yet—prevention funding is too often fragmented, restricted, or cut. Families are forced to wait until things fall apart before help is available. That makes no sense—for families or budgets.

If we’re serious about child well-being, public safety, and fiscal responsibility, we must:
🔹 Fund parent education as essential early childhood infrastructure
🔹 Protect universal, prevention-focused programs
🔹 Align policy and budgets with what the evidence already proves works

🛑 Prevention isn’t optional.
It’s the smartest investment we can make.

📣 Call to action: Legislators, funders, and system leaders—prioritize upstream solutions. Families and public systems depend on it.
