Meet Johanna!

Johanna Malabed brings a strong background in caregiver staffing, scheduling, and operations to her role at Hillendale Home Care. Prior to joining Hillendale, she worked as a Staffing Manager at another home care agency, supporting the East Bay as well as Napa, Santa Rosa, and surrounding regions. Earlier in her career, she spent three years as a Delivery Coordinator at Lowe’s, where she developed a strong foundation in logistics, communication, and problem-solving.

Johanna is passionate about serving seniors and finds deep fulfillment in providing the care, comfort, and peace of mind she wishes she could have offered her own grandparents. She values Hillendale’s strong sense of purpose and family-like culture, and takes pride in supporting caregivers, clients, and families alike.

Outside of work, Johanna enjoys spending time with her two young sons, planning her upcoming wedding, traveling (especially to Disneyland), and discovering new restaurants as a self-described foodie.

✨ Spreading a little extra holiday cheer ✨

This season, Francesca from Hillendale and our beloved animal therapy ponies have been out in the community bringing smiles, laughter, and meaningful connection to the seniors we serve. From gentle moments to big grins, these visits remind us how powerful companionship can be, especially during the holidays.

Animal-assisted therapy is just one of the many ways we support emotional well-being, reduce loneliness, and create moments of joy for older adults. It’s not just care, it’s connection, dignity, and heart. 💛

We’re so grateful to Francesca, our therapy ponies, and the communities who welcome us in as we continue this special work throughout the year.
