California Pilates California Pilates offers in-person and online classes rooted in the classical method.

The California Pilates educational platform geared towards helping new and seasoned Pilates instructors find their teaching voice. We promote confidence in your journey by empowering you with clarity in the concepts. Our aim is to guide you to achieve personal goals elevate your teaching to the next level. Our personal coaching and online courses take a whole body approach and offer detailed instructions. Each course is also designed to promote injury prevention by teaching self evaluation skills to be used before, during and after workouts. Each course employs the principles of: releasing, alignment, connecting, stretching, mobility, strength, breath, proprioception, interoception and biomechanics. We also offer several tracks on which to achieve educational goals whether it be through teacher training, workshops, our online catalog, or mentorship.

My work lives at the intersection of movement, curiosity, and care. I’ve spent years studying how the body adapts, protects, and communicates, especially under pressure, and I’m continually guided by what it teaches.

Aligned Executive grew from that curiosity. It’s a space for thoughtful movement, nervous system awareness, and building strength that supports life beyond the studio. I value precision, patience, and practices that respect the body’s timing rather than forcing outcomes.

While I consider myself a Classical Pilates teacher because any non-classical work offered is meant to supplement or educate so we can add new classical exercises. I am not naive enough to think Pilates is a perfect system for special populations.

Outside of sessions, I’m most at home in quiet moments, walking trails, creative work, time with my daughter, and anything that invites deep connective conversation.

Pilates has never been just fitness.
It has always been wellness.

From the beginning, the work asked for breath before effort, awareness before force, integrity before repetition.

Every exercise carries a conversation between posture, breath, nervous system, and intent. It echoes how we should show up in life for ourselves and others.

My transition back to executive wellness isn’t a departure it’s a return to the deeper truth of the method.

Going forward, I’ll be sharing how Pilates embodies whole-system wellness:

•How the breath assigned to each exercise correlates to evidence based methods of nervous system regulation.

•How the Pilates repertoire plays together.

•How alignment reflects decision-making.

•How the body is holding long before the mind admits it.

This is Pilates as strategy, longevity, and embodied clarity as intended through the profound body of work Joseph and Clara Pilates created.

It has been a while since I have been posting consistently so I want to take a moment to reintroduce myself. I’ve gained some new followers over the past few months of inactivity.

I am mom who is pushing 42 years old and have been teaching Pilates for over 18 years. It is a life long passions, among many others. My first love was photography so it’s nice to combine the two. I do teach in person classes in Lafayette, CA as well as online. You can DM me if you want to know where.

I have to remind people often that sometimes what you see is not what you get. The internet only tells a fraction of the story. Humans are complex ever changing beings and IG is only a glimpse into my life.

I am generally a warm socially capable introvert but can also be kind of like a skittish lap kitty who takes a second to warm up in unfamiliar settings. Please don’t take it personally if I am quiet. It has nothing to do with you.

I prefer deep non-judgmental psychological or metaphysical conversations about a wide range of things over small talk. Not that I can’t do small talk but it gets tedious and I rather just be silent. Silence is golden. ✨

I have super senses so I take in a lot of information at once but I have learned to tune things out over the decades. This is why I listen to a lot of music and prefer nature over a busy city.

You will see me share Pilates tutorials, and fitness pics mostly but I can be weird AF so if skin and artistic nudity offends you this might not be the profile for you. I am a naturist at heart.

I am a celiac so I cook a lot and will share that here too. One day I will share my recipes and flour blends but for now just pics.

Just a friendly reminder to teach the body in front of you because it is their workout not yours. ♥️

Leg Pull Back has several options to make it accessible. Using a box or yoga blocks under the hands can also offer wrist and shoulder relief. Props are tools, why not use them. 🙂

Jour 23: Swimming with variations

Swimming teaches us so much and translates to sports well! For quad dominate runners it can help them connect to your posterior chain and build awareness for balancing hip recruitment. Swimming athletes can learn how to coordinate their upper and lower limps while building core awareness. Those butterfly swimmers really need it!

Whatever your sport, this exercise is deceptively challenging. It’s like tummy time when we where babies learning to lift our heads for the first time.
