SAFETY DURING STRONG WINDS !!

High winds can make driving dangerous. If driving during windy conditions, slow down and keep two hands on the wheel, avoid large trucks and trailers, and watch for downed tree branches, trees and power lines. Bridges and overpasses can be particularly dangerous to drive over when it is extremely windy, so choose routes to avoid them.

* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 to 55 mph in the morning. A few gusts to 60 mph possible across southern Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts.

* WHERE...Most of southern New England.

* WHEN...From 4 AM Friday to 1 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds shift to west during the late afternoon and evening with gusts to 40 to 50 mph possible, especially over the Berkshires and Worcester Hills.
