..WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 15 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...All of Massachusetts east of the Berkshires except for southeastern Massachusetts.

* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.

Re: Notice of Aerial Larval Control Application

In accordance with 333 CMR 13.04(7) (a & b), please consider this as notification of the potential spring (and summer if conditions warrant) aerial applications targeting mosquito larvae in the larger wetlands of the District.

The Norfolk County Mosquito Control District will potentially be conducting helicopter applications of biorational larvicides to control mosquito larvae, should conditions warrant. Go to the Districts website for targeted spring wetland locations. The summer wetland locations will be posted before any application should it be warranted. These potential applications will be conducted over specific large wetlands in the Towns of:

Avon/Bellingham/Braintree/Canton/Dedham/Dover/Foxboro/Franklin Holbrook/Medfield/Medway/Millis/Milton/Needham/Norfolk/Norwood
Plainville/Quincy/Randolph/Sharon/Stoughton/Walpole/Westwood
Weymouth/Wrentham

Any potential applications may be conducted between April 1, and October 31, 2026.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet accumulations of a coating to 3 inches and ice accumulations up to around two tenths of an inch.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, central, eastern, and western Massachusetts, and northern Rhode Island.

* WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 7 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute.

POTENTIAL COASTAL STORM
SUNDAY into MONDAY !!

A strong coastal storm will pass somewhere near southern New England Sunday into Monday, possible bringing impactful snow, wind, and coastal flooding to the region.
Most likely scenario at this point is a further offshore track with fewer impacts. However, it is too early to rule out higher impacts at this time.

...AREAS OF BLACK ICE LIKELY DEVELOPING TONIGHT...

After a period of light rain/snow showers this afternoon and evening, temperatures will fall below freezing and into the 20s overnight. Light winds will limit how quickly wet surfaces can dry out and thus we expect areas of black ice to develop tonight and persist through the morning commute tomorrow. Event Alert!

Come join us on Tuesday, March 24th at 6 p.m. in the community room at the Walpole Police Department (50 South St, Walpole, MA 02081) for an event on Social Host Law and naloxone (Narcan) training.

Social Host Law: Led by the Walpole Police Department, attendees will learn about what social host law is and understand the liability that comes when hosting parties or gatherings when substances are present.

Naloxone Training: Led by SAFE Coalition, attendees will learn to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and receive step-by-step instructions on how to respond and administer naloxone.

This is going to be a great event, and we hope to see you there!
