WIND ADVISORY IS CANCELLED...

The threat for wind gusts capable of minor damage has ended.

Northwest wind gusts in the 35 to 45 mph range can still be expected during the morning, then steadily decreasing. With the potential for hazardous wind gusts coming to an end, the Wind Advisory will be cancelled.

[Damaging Wind Gusts Late Wednesday Night-Early Thursday morning]

A High Wind Watch has been issued for all of Southern New England for late Wed night into early Thu morning.

Westerly wind gusts of 55-65 mph expected between 11 pm and 5 am Thu.

Tree damage and power outages expected.

..WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST THIS EVENING.....HIGH WIND WATCH IN EFFECT FROM WEDNESDAY EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...For the Wind Advisory, northwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. For the High Wind Watch, west winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph possible.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, central, eastern, northeastern, southeastern, and western Massachusetts, and northern and southern Rhode Island.

* WHEN...For the Wind Advisory, until 7 PM EST this evening. For the High Wind Watch, from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and some power outages may result.
