❤️ My heart is full, yet hollow too,
With echoes that still speak of you.
Your name remains my morning prayer,
Your love still lingers in the air.

🌹 I hold your memory, clear and bright,
Through lonely days and restless nights.
Though time insists I move along,
My heart still beats your favorite song.

🌙 The world has changed since you’ve been gone,
Yet I find strength to carry on.
Each step I take, each breath I claim,
Whispers softly, “It’s not the same.”

🌾 I speak your name with pride and care,
As if you’re still beside me there.
Your love, my anchor, my sweet refrain,
My loss, my joy, my softest pain.

💫 Though life goes on in endless streams,
You visit nightly in my dreams.
I reach for you through sleep’s embrace,
And find your light in every place.

🌤️ My world moves forward, yet stands still,
You are my love, my heart’s own will.
Life carries on, but not the same—
Forever I’ll whisper your name.

The Storm Within

11/01/2025

When love departs, the air turns still 🌫️
The heart must climb a lonely hill 💔
We learn to live, though not the same 🌾
To speak in whispers of their name 💭

The world moves on, the clocks will chime ⏳
But we are stuck in sacred time 🌙
For love remains, though forms may fade 🕊️
In every smile, in light replayed 🌤️

They left us gifts of tender grace 🌸
In dreams, in hearts, in every place 🌼
We hold their memory close each day 💞
A candle that won’t burn away 🕯️

We cannot live without the pain 🌧️
For love and grief are one refrain ❤️
They shaped our souls, they still reside 🌿
Within the tears we cannot hide 💫

We live with love they left behind 🌹
Forever held in heart and mind 💛

Many religious traditions recognize their loved ones at this time of year through All Saint's Day, All Soul's Day, or other remembrance events. Although our traditions may vary, we can all agree that our loved ones deserve to be remembered and cherished.

The world stands still without your voice,
The air feels heavy, gray. 🌫️
I count the hours that pass by slow,
Since you were called away. 💔

I see your face in dreams each night,
Your smile still warms my mind.
But when I wake, you’re out of sight,
And peace I cannot find. 🌙

The empty chair, the quiet room,
Still hold your gentle tone.
I whisper “I still need you,”
Though I know I’m all alone. 😢

If love could build a bridge of stars,
I’d cross it endlessly. ✨
Just to feel your hand once more,
And set this aching free.

Today is Visit a Cemetery Day — a reminder that cemeteries aren’t just places of loss, but places of love, memory, and peace. Take a moment to walk the grounds, read the names, and remember the stories that live on. 🌿

"One of the things that I recalled was somebody saying to me, ‘You'll get over it eventually.’ I'm sure that they meant well, but it wasn't the right thing to say, because there's no timeline with grief. It's not that one day you wake up and you say, ‘Huh, guess what? I'm done grieving now.’ That's not the way it works."

Beatriz McKee's brother, Oscar, died in 2017.

“You wake up and, if you make it through a day without crying, then you had a great day.”

Every day, our local police, firefighters, and EMS teams show up for others — often in life’s hardest moments. On First Responders Day, we want to say thank you. We see your dedication, and we’re deeply grateful for the compassion you bring to our community.

This is such a beautiful reminder of how every memory is a quiet way of keeping them alive. The thought that remembrance can defy both distance and time.
