We’re excited to highlight Dr. James Meisel (BEMCo #0001)’s recently published article, which offers a meaningful insight into trust and humility in medical education, be sure to check it out! Dr. Meisel is an Associate Professor teaching General Internal Medicine at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. He is someone who is the heart of BEMCo and always supports the corps for our outstanding work, now it’s time to show his!

This Monday, October 27th, BEMCo held a “Mass Casualty Incident” DRILL to train BEMCo members on how to remain calm and rational in intense situations and how to triage patients during an MCI. This year’s MCI drill was a shooting which involved different injuries from gunshot wounds, neck + chest wounds, and bleeding injuries.

‼️ IMPORTANT NOTICE ‼️ BEMCo is holding a mass casualty incident drill to train BEMCo members today, Monday, October 27, from 8pm-10pm inside Shiffman Humanities Center. You may hear loud noises, including screaming and sirens, in the area or observe mock injuries. We will have signs clearly indicating that a training exercise is in progress to prevent any confusion. Be aware that this is a controlled training and not an emergency.
