Back2Health Yoga is an intimate studio located in the Hamlet of Chelsea, of Wappingers Falls. It is here where you will be guided through a safe progression of yoga classes designed to help you develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and an increased sense of well-being. At Back2Health Yoga our mission is to empower you to get strong, centered, and build confidence as you learn the tools of yoga to manage your pain and ease stress. And we address your needs through highly skilled instruction and knowledge about alignment and yoga therapeutics. We offer Iyengar Yoga classes, along with specialized classes to help bring relief to many common back and neck issues. We are also specialized in scoliosis.

Getting up and down from the floor is SO important 👈

Many of us spend much of our day moving from one seat to the next. Over time, this can create tightness in the hips and stiffness through the spine.

When you’re relaxing at home on the couch, have you ever noticed your posture? Often the back rounds as we melt into the sofa.

Instead, try getting down onto the floor.

When you’re home watching TV, take a few moments to sit on the floor instead. If you spend much of your day sitting in a chair or on the couch, this simple shift offers an opportunity to gently stretch the outer hips, knees, and thighs. Sitting more upright on the floor also helps engage and strengthen the muscles that support your spine.

You don’t need to sit for long—a few mindful minutes is enough to create a different relationship with your body.

Practice Corner
🧘 Sit on a couple of blankets or a bolster on the floor with your pelvis upright against the couch. Press your hands into the floor beside your hips to help lift the chest and support the spine.
⭐️ Periodically lift your arms overhead to invite more length and lift through the torso.
🪷Want to take it further? Sit against a wall and place a yoga block at the middle of your upper back. You’ll feel a wonderful sense of lift and support through the chest and spine.

Small, accessible practices like this add up—especially when done consistently.

Our next scoliosis series is here! ✨
This 4-week Back Care + Scoliosis series offers thoughtful, therapeutic yoga to support spinal alignment, build awareness, and ease tension. It’s appropriate for those managing back pain or scoliosis.

Individuals with scoliosis are encouraged to schedule a private session prior to the series. This allows time to understand your unique curve pattern and receive an introduction to working with it safely and effectively.
