We're excited to join The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse (CPCA), this year for their Child Abuse Prevention Month, the month of April is devoted to spreading awareness about child abuse and the efforts of organizations such as the CPCA which is in our backyard in Poughkeepsie, NY; the work they do is amazing, helping to keep children of our area and even surrounding counties safe, it's truly commendable. Delehanty Funeral Home is proud to show support with our blue pinwheel display outside of funeral home, and happy that we've gotten the community support of both our Town of Wappinger Supervisor Joseph D. Cavaccini and The Village of Wappingers Falls Mayor Kevin Huber; on April 1st we're going to have the gazebo in Meiser Park lit up blue. Special shout-out to Jordan Freer of Freer Landscaping LLC; for helping us with hanging the lights, truly a community effort; thank you to Town of Poughkeepsie Councilman Bill Reuter for coming out the other day, maybe next year we can get the Town of Poughkeepsie to Light up Blue. This weekend you'll notice us honoring a family's Irish roots, as they gather to mourn the loss of a daughter, sister, wife & mother... Her Family traveled from Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland; may this flag bring them comfort of their homeland... Our Lady of Knock, pray for us: May the road rise to meet her, May the wind be always at her back... And until we meet again, May God hold her in the palm of His hand. 🙏 ❤️🙏🇮🇪

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Skillman, loving mother, a remarkable woman, and a dedicated professional. Barbara’s courageous 4-year battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s ended on February 9, 2026, as she passed away peacefully at the age of 88.... (click the link below to read the full-obituary). A Memorial Service to celebrate Barbara's Life will be held on April 11, 2026 at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bronx, NY. Visiting hours will begin at 12:30 pm, followed by a Memorial Church Service at 2:00. A coffee & dessert fellowship will be held immediately following church in the same location. Barbara will be buried in a small private funeral on Monday, April 13th at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Redeemer Lutheran Youth Group, a cause close to Barbara's heart.
