Black History Month is also about action. Here are meaningful ways we can support equity and inclusion in our everyday lives:

• Read books by Black authors
• Support Black-owned businesses
• Introduce children to diverse role models
• Speak up when you see injustice
• Continue educating yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable

Change doesn’t happen overnight — it happens through consistent effort, reflection, and accountability.

As a community, we have the opportunity to model kindness, empathy, and curiosity for the next generation.

How are you choosing to show up not just this month, but every month, to help make the world a more inclusive place for all? Comment below ⬇️

Today we recognize George Washington’s Birthday, a day to reflect on leadership, service, and the foundations of our country’s history.

It’s an opportunity to pause and appreciate the role history plays in shaping the communities we live and work in today, while continuing to move forward with respect, learning, and shared responsibility.

Representation within autism and disability advocacy matters deeply. Black self-advocates, clinicians, and content creators are helping shift conversations by sharing lived experiences and advocating for equitable care.

Voices like:

These advocates challenge stigma, highlight disparities, and ensure that Black autistic individuals are seen, heard, and supported.

True inclusion means listening to those with lived experience and honoring their expertise. We encourage our community to follow, learn from, and uplift Black advocates who are creating change every day.

This week, we’re spotlighting Black leaders who have made a lasting impact on education, civil rights, access to opportunity, and community wellness.

Ruby Bridges, for example, was just six years old when she became the first Black student to integrate an all-white elementary school in the South. Her courage opened doors for generations of students who followed.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s leadership in the Civil Rights Movement reshaped laws and social systems, advocating for equality, justice, and dignity for all people.

Marian Wright Edelman founded the Children’s Defense Fund to ensure every child has a healthy start, a strong education, and a safe future.

Denisha Gingles, a liberation-centered clinician, Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and social justice advocate, uses her voice and expertise to integrate behavioral science with equity-centered practice. Her work empowers individuals and communities to confront systems of inequity and build pathways to healing, belonging, and opportunity.

These leaders remind us that progress often begins with bravery — and that one person can make a difference.
