In the early morning hours of July 26, we were alerted to one of our contracted facilities that a major electrical issue/electrical fire was causing one of our contracted facilities, Artis Senior Living of HV to be evacuated. This was a far from normal short term evacuation, but something that was going to displace resident’s for an extended period of time. Advanced Nurse Ambulance assisted numerous fire companies and ambulances to successfully evacuate 58 residents to a total of 3 different locations. Not only did people need to be moved, but a great deal of equipment needed to be moved as well including medication carts weighing a couple hundred pounds each.
On September 4 th, Advanced Nurse was tasked to get all 58 people and all equipment back after repairs to the building. Our team with assistance from Health Fleet Ambulance Service accomplished this enormous task in just over 6 hours!
Tremendous job to everyone involved in both sides of the event, proving that when organizations come together, things do get accomplished! All residents are now safe and sound back in their home!
We would hope this would never happen again, but if it should, be sure you have an ambulance squad that’s prepared for an event this size!
