H2 UPDATE:

When we came home from the beach, I noticed Hailey Holder’s stomach was a bit distended. I assumed since we had been on vacation that she was likely constipated from eating out and just being out of our routine. She spent 4 nights in excruciating pain and once we got to Cleveland we notified her oncology team. I sent her nurse pictures of her quickly growing belly and we were instructed to come to clinic immediately and were immediately admitted.

Once she went to surgery for her femur and getting a central line for what we thought would be chemo, the surgeon drained the excess fluid of her abdomen and then used a scope to identify the cause of her distended belly. Cancer has taken over her abdominal wall and organs aggressively. We are out of options so we are taking her home today where she will be entering hospice care. I have been told we have a mere few weeks but Blake and I are praying that God takes her quickly and without pain. Please join us in praying that God shows her mercy and welcomes her soon. We are grateful that we are finally going to be able to bare the pain for her and she will be healed.

This is the hardest thing I have ever typed out and it makes it so real. Blake and I are devastated beyond words. If I’m being honest, I’m terrified in every sense of the word. I have no idea how we are going to survive without her but we are celebrating the fact that our girl has hit a new milestone… as of this morning she has completed her very last night in the hospital. Home will be where she is however long we have left. The Three Musketeers we will always be.

Thank you all for supporting us the last four years. We never would have been able to seek such great care for her if we would have had to do it alone.

**please respect our privacy during this incredibly horrific time in our lives and do not send me crazy messages about dog dewormer and vegan diets. Our decision will not change. This will be the last H2 update until she is home with Jesus.

H2 UPDATE:

We are in desperate need for prayers.

Hailey Holder has been unexpectedly admitted today. Her cancer in her abdomen has progressed in the two short weeks we were at the beach. The tumors have caused fluid to build in her abdomen. Thankfully we already have surgery scheduled tomorrow and the surgeon has the capabilities to hopefully remove the fluid. She will have an ultrasound later today to give them a better idea of what they are dealing with and next steps.

With the unexpected rapid growth of her tumors, we will be in Cleveland for what may be a few weeks. Dr. Anderson said we will not be going home until she is able to get treatment including chemo. We will be consulting with radiation again to hopefully slow down the new progression in her abdomen and try to help with her sudden extreme onset of pain.

Just when we thought things couldn’t get worse. Blake and I are barely able to look at her without busting into tears. This is a very bad situation, I won’t sugarcoat it. Please pray first for pain relief. There is nothing worse for us than watching her in pain sobbing and begging for the ER and not being able to take that pain from her. Second, please pray for us. We have tried our best to prepare ourselves but this is impossible. We did not expect to be here past Friday nor were we prepared.
