For the last four years we have hosted the It Takes A Village - Maternal Health Expo in April during the week of Black Maternal Health week. This year we are doing something a little different as we continue to educate the community on the issues surrounding maternal health. We are so excited to present the First Black Maternal Health Conference at The Fort Valley State University on March 21st. The conference is free but registration is required. We would love to see you there. ❤️

According to the Ga Department of Public Health Maternal Mortality Review Report during 2019-2021 in the North Central Health District, we had thirteen mothers die during the maternal period. This includes up to one year after the birth of the baby. Lets build a village around maternal families. Pregnancy and delivery is not the end. We have to plan for postpartum.
As a postpartum doula I can assist families in navigate healing during postpartum, eduation, feeding baby, light housekeeping, nutrition, rest and more.

Anyone want to help plan something for Black Breastfeeding week in August?

Are you ready?? This year marks 14 years of Black Breastfeeding Week (Aug. 25-31) and we are so excited about this year’s theme lifting up our history of community support and the role of community centered organizations in making breast/body feeding work for Black families.

Plus, we may just need to get a bodyfeeding folx line dance going !!! We can’t wait to see what you all do with this year’s theme.
