With an unanimous vote, the wording in our City Ordinances for Massage Therapy will be changed from "Massaginist" to "Licensed Massage Therapist"

Thank you to the City Council of Warner Robins for listening to the concerns of how Licensed Massage Therapists are referrenced in our City Ordinances.
For those who are not aware, we are called MASSAGINISTS in the City Ordinances. I'm trying diligently to get that changed.

PSA: it is illegal in the State of Georgia for anyone other than Licensed MEDICAL Practitioners to re-open incision sites and push fluid out.

That is NOT Manual Lymphatic Drainage.

A fellow massage therapist & Lymphatic Drainage specialist in Florida posted this today, so it reminded me that its probably a good time to share here in Georgia, too.

Also, per O.C.G.A. § 43-24A-1
Lymphatic Drainage MUST be performed by a LICENSED professional.

Why would it help someone's blood work?
Well, the lymphatic system is a huge part of our body's natural cleansing. In the most simplistic terms I can use to describe it: it collects intracellular fluid, which is often cellular waste, filters it through lymph nodes to break it down, then rejoins the blood system to send waste through the liver for more processing, then to the bowels and bladder for excretion.
The less "gunk" in our bodies, the better our blood will be!
