Pulaski Head Start had a great time creating sensory bottles filled with slime and glitter! As they poured, measured, and mixed, children practiced fine-motor skills, followed step-by-step directions, and explored how materials move and swirl. Motherhood Activity: Rainbow Snack Craft 🌈🍓
Moms and kiddos teamed up for a sweet Motherhood activity—creating rainbows with Fruit Loops and marshmallows! While building their edible rainbows, children practiced color sorting, counting, patterns, and fine-motor skills—and most importantly, made special memories with their moms. 💛

Wilkinson Head Start received a special visit from a local sanitation worker as part of our Reduce, Recycle, Reuse unit! He showed the class how the trash can is lifted and dumped into the truck, talked about keeping our community clean, and answered lots of great questions. 🚛♻️

The best part? Students got up close to the truck and even took photos with it! Thank you for helping bring real-world learning to life.

Wilkinson Head Start — Multicultural Learning Event 🎉📚🇲🇽

Our children enjoyed a special multicultural experience with Mariela Gonzalez, a member of our community, who visited to share about her quinceañera. She showed the students photos of her beautiful dress and explained that it was made in Mexico and shipped to the U.S. for her celebration.

After learning about the tradition, Mariela read The Quinceañera, and the fun continued as our students got to break a piñata! This was a wonderful way to build cultural awareness, vocabulary, and community connection through hands-on learning.

Thank you, Mariela, for sharing your culture and creating such a memorable experience for our children! 💛

📚🐍 Eastman Head Start Special Guest Reader!

Eastman Head Start enjoyed a special visit from Mr. Tom Jackson, a local Eastman author, who came to read his book Kemoni and the Leprechaun Snake to our students. This meaningful story was written about former Eastman Head Start student Kemoni Andrews and her late father. 💚

After story time, Mr. Jackson shared photos of his real-life “Leprechaun Snake” and introduced children to several of his reptiles. The students learned about different types of snakes, snake safety, and how reptiles are cared for—including what they eat and how to stay safe around them.

We’re grateful Mr. Jackson continues to support our center—this is his second year visiting Eastman Head Start, and our children loved every minute!

Due to uncertainty in the timing of severe weather tomorrow and multiple local school district closures across our service area, MGCAA Corporate Office will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, March 16.

🏫 Program Centers: Closures are dependent on public school closures in your county. Please follow your local school district updates for guidance.
