Heart of Georgia Hospice

Heart of Georgia Hospice The Heart of Georgia Hospice Difference

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we are proud to be the only independent nonprofit hospice in the Middle Georgia area.

Heart of Georgia Hospice the only independent, non-profit, Faith-based ministry Hospice program in the Middle Georgia Area serving people of all faiths and beliefs since 1984. We offer comprehensive hospice services to support our patients, their families, and the community in meaningful and compassionate ways. My Story:
This unique program captures the life stories of our terminally-ill patients

on digital audio, as told in their own words. These recordings become cherished keepsakes, offering families the chance to forever hear their loved one’s voice and personal reflections. Casserole Ministry:
We provide meals to patients and families in need of extra support, especially for those without a church or community network. This is just one of the many ways we care for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. Camp WINGS:
Each year, we host Camp WINGS, a free bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 who have lost a loved one. This special camp offers a safe space for healing, growth, and connection with peers who share similar experiences. Annual Memorial Service:
In December, we hold a touching Memorial Service to remember and honor the loved ones of those who have been part of our journey. This is a time for families to gather, reflect, and celebrate the lives of those we’ve cared for. Thrift Store:
Our Thrift Store, located on Watson Blvd behind the old Chick-fil-A in Warner Robins, provides critical support to our mission. Every purchase helps ensure we can continue offering free services to our patients and their families. Your contributions make a difference, as we never send a bill to our patients. Serving 10 Counties:
We proudly serve Houston, Macon-Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dooly, Macon, Peach, Pulaski, Taylor, and Twiggs counties, providing compassionate, high-quality care where it’s needed most. We’re here to serve our community with heart, offering the highest standard of hospice care as we continue to make every moment matter for our patients and their families.

Today is National Tell a Story Day, and we believe no one understands the power of a story quite like those at the end of life.

Every patient we have the privilege of caring for carries a lifetime of stories. The late nights raising babies. The jobs that shaped them. The loves that defined them. The faith that carried them. Our hospice team doesn't just provide medical care, we sit at bedsides and listen. Because a life well-lived deserves to be heard.

This week, we encourage you to sit with someone you love and ask them about their story. You might be surprised what you learn — and what it means to them just to be asked.

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, honoring the stories of our patients and families is at the heart of everything we do. It's not just end-of-life care. It's a ministry of presence, compassion, and remembrance.

Whose story will you listen to today? 💜

🌟 Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 🌟

Without Alicia Toler, HR Director, and Wanda Grant, Administrative Assistant, we could never provide the compassionate care that our patients and their families have come to expect from us.

Your hard work, attention to detail, and dedication don't go unnoticed. We see you and we appreciate you more than words can say!

Make sure to thank these two for all they do! Our office would not be the same without their smiles, laughs, and loving natures! 💜🖤

There's something about the natural world that words can't quite capture — the warmth of sunlight through a window, the sound of birds in the morning, the smell of fresh air on a spring breeze.

For those nearing the end of life, these simple gifts carry enormous weight.
Research shows that connection to nature, whether it's a view of the sky, time spent on a porch, or even a single plant in a room, can ease anxiety, reduce the sense of isolation, and bring a profound sense of peace during life's most tender moments.

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we believe comfort comes in many forms. Sometimes it's medication. Sometimes it's a hand to hold. And sometimes, it's simply the quiet comfort of a spring afternoon.

This Earth Day, we're grateful for the beauty of the world around us — and for the privilege of walking alongside our patients and families as they experience it.

We have very exciting news!

Heart of Georgia Hospice has purchased 1725 Watson (currently Home Furniture and Mattress), and this Fall we will be relocating the hospice office as well as Heart of Georgia Hospice Thrift Store to one unified location!

All hospice services will continue without interruption throughout the move and our patients and their families will remain our number one priority, just as they are today.

We are excited for this new chapter in our organization and look forward to having the entire Heart of Georgia Hospice team under one roof!

Today is Volunteer Recognition Day, and we have so much to be grateful for.

The smiling faces in this photo represent something truly special — people who chose to show up. Not because they had to, but because they care. Our volunteers sit with patients who need companionship, support grieving families, help run Camp WINGS, assist at community events, and so much more. They fill roles that simply cannot be replaced.

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, volunteers aren't just helpful, they are essential. Without them, our mission to provide compassionate, no-cost care to the patients and families of Middle Georgia would not be possible.

To every single person who has ever given their time to Heart of Georgia Hospice: thank you. Thank you for walking into hard situations with a warm heart. Thank you for sitting in the quiet with someone who needed company. Thank you for showing up, week after week, because you believe every person deserves dignity and care at the end of life.

If you've ever thought about volunteering with us, today is a great day to take that step. Visit our website or send us a message to learn more about how you can get involved!

Happy National High Five Day! At Heart of Georgia Hospice, some of our favorite high fives happen at Camp WINGS — and they mean more than you might think.

Camp WINGS is our free weekend grief camp held in early November for children in 1st through 8th grade who have lost a loved one. For a lot of these kids, it's the first time they've been in a room full of other children who truly understand what they're going through.

Over the course of the weekend, campers bond through fun activities, get one-on-one attention from trained social workers, and work through their feelings in small group sessions. There's arts & crafts, outdoor activities, games, and laughter — and by the end of it, those high fives flying around aren't just about having fun. They're about resilience. They're about hope. They're about kids realizing they don't have to carry their grief alone. 💜

And the best part? It's completely free to attend.

If you know a child between 1st and 8th grade who has experienced a loss and could use a weekend like this, visit our website or give us a call to learn more. And if you'd like to help make Camp WINGS possible, consider volunteering or donating. It takes a village to pull this off, and every bit of support goes directly toward these kids.

💜 Because grief doesn't have an age limit — and neither does healing.

Our Story

In addition to In-home Hospice Care, we offer several other services to our patients, their families and the community. The Heart of Georgia Difference... My Story - A unique program that captures the life stories of terminally-ill patients on digital audio, as told by patients themselves. This can be a treasured keepsake by family, hearing their loved one's story in their own words. "Casserole Ministry" - Providing food to those in our program who are in need of this type of support or who may have no church support. Camp WINGS - Annual bereavement camp for children ages 6-16 who have lost a loved one. "Memorial Service" - A remembrance service each December that memorializes the loved ones of those in attendance. Inpatient Care - Our peaceful inpatient care facility features six beautifully decorated patient suites with private bath facilities, meal services, 24-hour family kitchen and area equipped with a TV and Internet access. Family members are welcome to spend the night and pets are welcomed at designated times. A peaceful chapel invites all faiths for gentle reflection and prayer. Thrift Stores - We have two thrift stores. One located on Watson Blvd behind the Chic-Fil-A in Warner Robins and in Byron in the Peach Outlets. Please shop with us! We have daily sales and discounts. Every penny goes into supporting our patients and their families. We will never send our patients a bill and this is one of the many ways we are able to support that mission.
