Heart of Georgia Hospice

Heart of Georgia Hospice The Heart of Georgia Hospice Difference

At Heart of Georgia Hospice, we are proud to be the only independent nonprofit hospice in the Middle Georgia area.

Heart of Georgia Hospice the only independent, non-profit, Faith-based ministry Hospice program in the Middle Georgia Area serving people of all faiths and beliefs since 1984. We offer comprehensive hospice services to support our patients, their families, and the community in meaningful and compassionate ways. My Story:
This unique program captures the life stories of our terminally-ill patients on digital audio, as told in their own words. These recordings become cherished keepsakes, offering families the chance to forever hear their loved one’s voice and personal reflections. Casserole Ministry:
We provide meals to patients and families in need of extra support, especially for those without a church or community network. This is just one of the many ways we care for the whole person, mind, body, and spirit. Camp WINGS:
Each year, we host Camp WINGS, a free bereavement camp for children ages 6-17 who have lost a loved one. This special camp offers a safe space for healing, growth, and connection with peers who share similar experiences. Annual Memorial Service:
In December, we hold a touching Memorial Service to remember and honor the loved ones of those who have been part of our journey. This is a time for families to gather, reflect, and celebrate the lives of those we’ve cared for. Thrift Store:
Our Thrift Store, located on Watson Blvd behind the old Chick-fil-A in Warner Robins, provides critical support to our mission. Every purchase helps ensure we can continue offering free services to our patients and their families. Your contributions make a difference, as we never send a bill to our patients. Serving 10 Counties:
We proudly serve Houston, Macon-Bibb, Bleckley, Crawford, Dooly, Macon, Peach, Pulaski, Taylor, and Twiggs counties, providing compassionate, high-quality care where it’s needed most. We’re here to serve our community with heart, offering the highest standard of hospice care as we continue to make every moment matter for our patients and their families.

Today we recognize the hospitalists and inpatient care teams who serve patients during critical moments.

Hospitalists manage complex conditions, coordinate with specialists, and help families navigate important medical decisions with clarity and compassion. Their leadership and steady presence make a meaningful difference in every hospital stay.

Heart of Georgia Hospice is grateful for the hospitalists who trust us with their referrals when patients become eligible for hospice care. We are honored to continue the support and comfort they begin.

We were able to visit another group this morning who has been making "comfort pads" for our patients for many years. By hand sewing donated bed sheets around a hospital medical pad, they create a medical pad with a much more comfortable and softer surface. These comfort pads allow our team to deliver care to patients while keeping them as comfortable as possible.

We were lucky enough to stop by today and share with First Baptist Perry's volunteer group our many thanks for the work they do. We learned some ladies in the group have been making comfort pads for hospice patients since 1982!

Many thanks again to the Perry Group, your support is appreciated every day! We hope you enjoyed the baked treats courtesy of Little Sweeties Cakery!

For many, many years now, the Helping Hands Ministry at Central Baptist Church Warner Robins has been making "comfort pads" for our patients. By hand sewing donated bed sheets around a hospital medical pad, they create a medical pad with a much more comfortable and softer surface. These comfort pads allow our team to deliver care to patients while keeping them as comfortable as possible.

We were lucky enough to stop by today and share with Helping Hands our many thanks for the work they do and let them know about the events we have coming up in 2026!

Many thanks again to the Helping Hands Ministry, your support is appreciated every day!

Old stuff can make a real impact.

On National Old Stuff Day, we are celebrating the mission behind the Heart of Georgia Hospice Thrift Store. Our store operates because of generous community donations, and every purchase helps fund compassionate hospice care across Middle Georgia.

The proceeds from our thrift store help ensure that patients and families never face out of pocket expenses for their care.

When you donate or shop with us, you are not just supporting a store. You are supporting dignity, comfort, and care when it matters most.

Thank you for helping us turn generosity into hospice care. 💚

It’s no secret that in hospice, the majority of our patients are elderly. With age often comes wisdom, stories, sacrifice, and a lifetime of love poured into others.

National Letter to an Elder Day is a reminder that connection still matters deeply in every season of life. We have seen firsthand the impact a simple gesture such as a handwritten note can have. A few thoughtful words can light up a face, spark treasured memories, and offer comfort in ways that are hard to measure but impossible to miss.

If you have an elder in your life, take a few minutes to write. Your words may mean more than you will ever know. 💜

Last week, three of our team members traveled to The Classic City for the 2026 Georgia Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Annual Clinical and Leadership Conference! Not only was the conference lots of fun, but also very informative! All three are very excited to bring what they learned back to Heart of Georgia Hospice in 2026!

Also, our own Jennifer Elliott was elected to the GHPCO Board of Directors! What a week these three had!

Our Story

In addition to In-home Hospice Care, we offer several other services to our patients, their families and the community. The Heart of Georgia Difference... My Story - A unique program that captures the life stories of terminally-ill patients on digital audio, as told by patients themselves. This can be a treasured keepsake by family, hearing their loved one's story in their own words. "Casserole Ministry" - Providing food to those in our program who are in need of this type of support or who may have no church support. Camp WINGS - Annual bereavement camp for children ages 6-16 who have lost a loved one. "Memorial Service" - A remembrance service each December that memorializes the loved ones of those in attendance. Inpatient Care - Our peaceful inpatient care facility features six beautifully decorated patient suites with private bath facilities, meal services, 24-hour family kitchen and area equipped with a TV and Internet access. Family members are welcome to spend the night and pets are welcomed at designated times. A peaceful chapel invites all faiths for gentle reflection and prayer. Thrift Stores - We have two thrift stores. One located on Watson Blvd behind the Chic-Fil-A in Warner Robins and in Byron in the Peach Outlets. Please shop with us! We have daily sales and discounts. Every penny goes into supporting our patients and their families. We will never send our patients a bill and this is one of the many ways we are able to support that mission.
