’Twas the night before Christmas at Werner Behavioral Health,

Not a worry was stirring, we were tending to mental health.

The office was quiet, the lights softly dim,
After weeks full of growth, now the year’s growing slim.

The charts were all finished, the notes neatly done,
Each session held space for more healing to come.

From big feelings processed to small wins each day,
Every step forward mattered in its own special way.

Jamie reflected on the courage she’d seen,
In clients who learned what their feelings can mean.

Taryn smiled, proud of progress made slow,
Reminding us healing is steady, not rushed, as we go.

Robert checked calendars, systems all set,
Making room for new goals the new year would beget.

And Mrs. K, with her wisdom and care,
Held compassion so steady, reminding us we’re never alone there.

At the front desk sat Melinda, Naomi, Kristi too,
With kindness and patience in all that they do.

Every call, every smile, every moment they gave,
Helped create the safe space so many clients crave.

The interns, Jamir, Madi, Amber, and soon Stephanie,

Learned that therapy starts with humanity.
With curiosity, courage, and hearts open wide,
They walked alongside the team, never rushing the ride.

We remembered this season can be heavy for some,
That joy and grief often together will come.

So we honor all feelings, each one has a place,
There’s no “right” way to heal, no need to erase.

As Christmas drew near and the year came to rest,

We held hope for tomorrow and wished you the best.

May your nights feel more peaceful, your days feel more light,

And may you remember, you don’t have to be “okay” every night.

From all of us here, with care genuine and true,
Thank you for trusting us to walk alongside you.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a gentle New Year—

From Werner Behavioral Health, we’re grateful you’re here. 🎄✨

🍁 Happy Thanksgiving from Werner Behavioral Health Center! 🍁

We remain deeply grateful for the trust our community places in us each day. Supporting your families, your healing, and your growth is an honor we never take lightly.

From our family to yours, we hope your holiday is filled with warmth, connection, rest, and moments that remind you of what truly matters.

As we celebrate this season of gratitude, we’re reminded of the words from 1 Thessalonians 5:18 —

On this Veterans Day, the team at Werner Behavioral Health Center joins our community in honoring the Individuals who have served our country with courage, dedication, and sacrifice. We are deeply grateful for the veterans who walk among us — as clients, colleagues, friends, family members, and neighbors — and for the many loved ones of our patients whose service has shaped their families and our community in countless ways.

Military service often requires strength that extends far beyond the battlefield. The transition back to civilian life, coping with trauma, grief, or unseen wounds can bring complex emotional and mental health challenges. At Werner Behavioral Health Center, we are committed to supporting the mental well-being of veterans and their families by offering compassionate, trauma-informed care grounded in respect and understanding.

To every veteran who has given your time, your heart, and your peace for the good of others — we thank you. Today we honor your service and recognize your humanity, resilience, and healing journey.

💙 With gratitude,
The Team at Werner Behavioral Health Center

🌿 Community Connection Highlight | Middle Georgia Counselors Coffee Meet ☕️

Yesterday morning, the Werner Behavioral Health Center clinical team joined other local therapists for the Middle Georgia Counselors Coffee Meet at Between Friends Coffee Shop! It was a wonderful morning of collaboration, shared perspectives, and meaningful discussion about how we can continue supporting one another as mental health professionals in Middle Georgia.

At Werner Behavioral Health Center, there is nothing we value more than community. We believe that providing the best care for our clients extends beyond the walls of our office. It’s built through the relationships, teamwork, and shared commitment we have with other helping professionals in our area. Coming together in spaces like this strengthens not only our network, but the quality of care we can collectively provide. ❤️

🌿 We are 2 days away from the official opening of our new office location!

As we continue our staff spotlight series, we’re excited to feature Jamie Broussard, LMSW, one of our incredible therapists here at Werner Behavioral Health Center!

Jamie is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who has been serving individuals, couples, and families for over a decade. She describes her approach as warm, authentic, and collaborative, creating a space where clients feel supported, understood, and empowered to grow.

Jamie specializes in trauma and PTSD, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and neurodiversity-affirming therapy, among many other areas. She integrates a variety of evidence-based interventions, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based strategies, psychoeducation, and family systems approaches, always tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals.

Jamie is open to working with clients of all ages, from energetic 6-year-olds to wise 100-year-olds (or longer if you’re blessed to make it there!). She believes therapy should grow and evolve with you, no matter where you are in life.

“My goal is to change your perspective on therapy and help you walk away feeling supported, understood, and empowered,” Jamie shares.

When she’s not working, Jamie can be found spending time with her family, chasing her toddler around, sketching, or singing loudly, because life’s too short not to belt out a good song.

Jamie provides in-person therapy at our Werner Behavioral Health Center and is currently accepting new clients.

Just 3 days left until our new office opens! 💙

As we continue the countdown, today’s spotlight shines on one of our amazing therapists, Mrs. K (Karen Lloyd, APC)! 🌼

Meet Mrs. K, who believes that healing happens in connection. 💙

Mrs. K is a compassionate, trauma-informed counselor who believes therapy should feel like a safe conversation with someone who truly gets it. She works with kids, teens, adults, and families, helping them navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and life’s transitions.

Her approach blends EMDR, CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based techniques to help clients move from merely surviving toward genuine healing and growth. ✨

As a military spouse and mom, she brings empathy, balance, and authenticity into every session. Her clients describe her as calm, grounded, and easy to talk to, the kind of presence that helps people exhale and finally feel understood.

No matter how you show up, Mrs. K meets you where you are, helping you find clarity, connection, and strength.

🌟 Staff Spotlight | Kristie Nelson

We’re only 4 days away from opening the doors to our new Werner Behavioral Health Center location, and today’s spotlight shines on someone who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, our incredible Billing Specialist, Kristie Nelson!

Kristie brings over 12 years of experience in medical billing and is a proud member of the AAPC. She is the owner and operator of LightsOn Billing, a company dedicated to helping healthcare providers stay organized, compliant, and profitable. Her team specializes in medical billing, coding, and revenue cycle management, allowing providers to focus on patient care while she ensures accuracy and transparency on the financial side.

“At LightsOn Billing, our mission is simple — to shine a light on every dollar earned and provide peace of mind through honest, efficient billing solutions,” Kristie shares.

Outside of work, Kristie wears many hats: taxi driver for teens, leader of the young women’s group at her church, and active member of three charitable organizations. Her commitment to both her profession and her community truly reflects the heart of our practice.

We are so grateful for Kristie’s dedication, integrity, and the vital role she plays in keeping our team and clients supported every day. 💚

There are just 7 days left until we move into our new office! 🎉

As we count down to opening day, we’re taking this week to feature members of our incredible team who make Werner Behavioral Health Center what it is.

Today, we’re excited to highlight our intern, Amber! 💙

Meet Amber! 💙

Amber is currently completing her internship at Werner Behavioral Health Center while pursuing her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Valdosta State University.

She has a special passion for working with children and adolescents, and she’s developing her clinical focus in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a trauma-focused approach.

Amber believes in creating a safe, supportive space where individuals feel empowered to share their stories, build resilience, and strengthen their overall wellbeing. 🌱

Outside of her work in counseling, Amber enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her family, where she is an amazing, dedicated and hard working wife and mother!

✨ Meet Our Team! ✨

We are 9 days out until the new office location opens up and today we wanted to highlight another one of our founders, Taryn Werner, LCSW!

We’re honored to highlight Taryn Werner, co-founder and visionary leader at Werner Behavioral Health Center. 💙

Taryn’s journey is one of extraordinary resilience, compassion, and purpose. As a young mother navigating both the challenges of parenthood and visual impairment, she turned obstacles into opportunities for growth. Her story is a testament to what’s possible when determination meets heart.

Driven by a deep desire to understand and help others, Taryn pursued psychology, often attending college classes with her young child by her side. That commitment set the foundation for a lifelong career of service in mental health.

Taryn began her professional path in substance abuse recovery, where she was recognized for her empathy and ability to connect with clients navigating life’s hardest moments. Over time, she expanded her focus to broader mental health care, mentoring new clinicians, leading treatment teams, and building programs that have touched countless lives.

While in graduate school, Taryn met her husband and professional partner, Robert Werner, whose support and shared vision would lead to the creation of Werner Behavioral Health Center. Together, they built not only a practice but a community, a space grounded in empathy, integrity, and the belief that healing begins with connection. 🌿

As co-founder and clinical leader, Taryn’s vision continues to guide Werner Behavioral Health Center's growth. Her leadership emphasizes quality, accessibility, and authenticity, ensuring every client who walks through the doors feels truly seen and supported.

We’re endlessly grateful for Taryn’s leadership, her compassion, and her inspiring example of strength through adversity. 💙
