Earlier this week, Kathy, our Director of Community Partnerships, and Michelle our Associate Executive Director had the opportunity to attend the Mayor’s State of the City Address, and what an inspiring event it was!

Hearing Mayor Patrick share the vision for the future of Warner Robins made one thing very clear—there are so many exciting things ahead for our community. From continued growth and development to new initiatives and partnerships, it’s encouraging to see the investment being made in making our city an even better place to live, work, and thrive.

We’re especially excited about the opportunities to collaborate and be part of the positive momentum happening throughout the city. 💃✨ The energy in the room changes the moment Sharona walks in!

Each month, our residents look forward to Sharona’s OT Dance sessions, and it’s easy to see why. From the first song to the final move, the room is filled with music, laughter, dancing, and pure joy. 🎶

Sharona has a way of bringing out the best in everyone. Her positivity is absolutely contagious, and before long you’ll find toes tapping, hands clapping, and plenty of residents (and staff!) busting a move right along with her. These sessions are more than just dancing—they’re moments of connection, movement, confidence, and FUN. Watching the smiles, hearing the laughter, and feeling the energy in the room reminds us just how special these gatherings are.

Thank you, Sharona, for sharing your passion, your encouragement, and your incredible spirit with our community each month. We can’t wait for the next dance party! 💃🕺✨

✨ Mahj & Mingle is on fire! (in the best way possible!) 🔥

What started just a couple of months ago as a small weekly gathering of 14 has absolutely exploded into something special. Last week we recorded 100+ in attendance! The growth of the Houston County Mahj & Mingle meetups has been incredible to witness, and it’s clear that something meaningful is happening around the table each week. Tile by tile, game by game, we’re building community one tile at a time. 🀄

What’s been most beautiful to see is how this space has brought together residents, family members, and neighbors from our local community—people who might not have met otherwise—sharing laughter, friendly competition, and genuine connection. It's been therapeutic for some, and a ministry for others. We’ve heard so many amazing stories already about the impact this group is having, and we want to share one that truly captures the spirit of Mahj & Mingle here at Lake Joy:

"Thank you so much for hosting the Mahjong group! Jean has been talking to me about it for weeks, so I decided to get involved. As a surprise for her, I am learning to play so I can teach her. I’ve been thrilled that she has come out to watch the last two weeks! For her birthday, we are giving her a mahjong game and a bingo game. We are happy for her as she has expanded while living there, and she no longer spends all her time in her room". (Jean and daughter is the first picture in this post).

How beautiful is that?! We are so grateful that Houston County Mahj & Mingle choose to play here, and all that they have already given back to our community. Not just the games, but so much more. This afternoon, some residents even had a smaller daytime session to learn some rules so more can attend the Tuesday evening festivities!

☀️Mondays are for getting OUT and ABOUT in the community!! Our assisted living residents enjoyed the flavors of El J's for lunch, while our pearl residents enjoyed the beautiful weather we have been experiencing this week during a scenic walk. Both neighborhoods had a wonderful time with their friends that have become family. It was the perfect kickstart to the week we all needed! ☀️
