Soaring Independence

Soaring Independence We are a certified Medicaid agency, established in 2015. We provide services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Assisting people of all abilities to have the opportunity to lead a self directed life and to obtain the supports and skills to safely and actively participate in their community. We launched with four team members. Since then, we have added many more Direct Support Professionals to our team, many of which offer specialized services, such as positive behavior supports and job supports. We offer a variety of supports which include: community inclusion, employment services, group day support, respite, community living and chore service support. Our overall goal is to support our client’s human right to autonomy and independence. We offer one-to-one support, promoting individual goals. We offer group support, promoting social skills and safety skills. We have a lot of fun in the community and enjoy volunteering and participating in social activities, e.g. dances, beach trips, snow and mountain trips, camping, picnics, parades, social club events, birthday parties and so much more. Our goal is to provide the best service to our clients and to encourage clients to seek autonomy, independence and to actively participate in their community.

Part time is 20 hrs. a week minimum. 35-40 hrs. a week full time.

You must be able to pass a background check, have 2 (personal or professional) referrals and a resume.

The Winter Solstice & Christmas Ships event is this Saturday, Dec. 20 from 4:30 to 7:30 PM in Milwaukie Bay Park! The combined Christmas Ships fleets will pass by the park twice, the first time at about 5:30 on their way to Lake Oswego and again at about 7 PM on their way back to Portland. Food and beverages are available for purchase from the Lewelling Neighborhood Association and Beer Store Milwaukie. We have a lot of fun in the community and enjoy volunteering, doing social activities like dances, trips to the beach, playing in the snow, camping, picnics, parades, club events and much more.
