While snoring can be a symptom, sleep apnea is much more serious. It causes repeated pauses in breathing during sleep, which can lower oxygen levels and strain the heart, brain, and overall health.

While loud, frequent snoring can be a warning sign, not all snorers have sleep apnea—and not all sleep apnea patients snore.

The only way to know for sure? A proper sleep screening. Catch the signs early, and sleep smarter.

Snoring isn’t just a sleep issue. It can quietly take a toll on your oral health.

Dry mouth, jaw pain, worn teeth, and gum changes are all signs that something deeper may be going on. If you’re noticing any of these, it’s worth a conversation with your dentist.

Ever wonder why you're still tired even after a full night's sleep?

Jaw issues like TMJ disorder can silently fuel sleep apnea. A misaligned jaw can block your airway, while nighttime teeth grinding may be your body's way of gasping for air.

The fix? A custom oral appliance from your dentist, no bulky CPAP required.

If you deal with jaw pain, snoring, or constant fatigue, it might all be connected. Schedule your consultation at https://www.michiganheadandneck.com/book-appt/!

Think posture only affects your back? Think again.

When your head tilts forward (like when you’re hunched over a desk or phone), the muscles around your jaw are forced to carry extra weight, and they weren’t built for that.

Over time, this can lead to jaw stiffness, facial tension, and even TMJ symptoms, even if your bite is healthy.

Treating sleep apnea does more than improve sleep; it protects your heart, enhances focus, and supports emotional well-being.

Quality, restorative sleep helps lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, and improve daily productivity and relationships. If you’re constantly feeling drained or unfocused, addressing sleep disruptions could make all the difference.

Many people don’t realize that chronic neck pain could be linked to jaw misalignment.

The TMJ (jaw joint) and cervical spine are deeply connected when the jaw is out of alignment, and excessive strain is placed on the neck, shoulders, and posture, leading to tension, stiffness, and even headaches.

By addressing TMJ dysfunction, you can relieve neck pain, restore proper alignment, and improve overall well-being.

Our Story

At Michigan Head & Neck Institute our focus is on restoring our patients’ quality of life. We work with our patients who suffer from TMD or Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Our services aim to relieve the painful TMD symptoms by using an oral appliance, multiple physical medicine techniques and physical therapy. We also provide an oral appliance as an alternative to a CPAP machine if you are unable to tolerate using one so you can get the sleep your body needs.

Dr. Klein and his specially trained staff provide an office that feels like home with treatments that have been relieving patients suffering from headaches, jaw, eye, ear, and neck problems associated with TMD for over 35 years. Together with our patient we rediscover healthy sleep and a TMD pain free life for each of them. Feel free to schedule a consultation today so we can understand your situation and how we would be able to help.
