Many people experience leakage during pregnancy because the growing belly, hormonal changes, and increased pressure place extra demand on the pelvic floor. When those muscles are overloaded or not coordinating well, leaks can happen.

But the good news is leaking is a sign, not a life sentence.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help provide the support your pelvic floor is looking for and help:
• Improve pelvic floor coordination
• Reduce pressure and strain
• Support your bladder
• Prepare your body for birth and postpartum recovery

You don’t have to figure it out alone and you definitely don’t have to accept leaking as your “new normal.”

Not sure if pelvic floor pt is right for you? Book a free consult with us to speak with one of our physical therapists to get your questions answered.

🚽 Did you know your toilet posture can make all the difference?

Most of us were never taught how to sit on the toilet in a way that actually supports our body. But the position you use can have a big impact on your pelvic floor, bowel movements, and long-term pelvic health.

When you sit with your knees level with or lower than your hips (the way many standard toilets position us), the pelvic floor muscles stay partially contracted. That means the re**um isn’t fully aligned for easy elimination. So what happens?

• More straining
• Harder bowel movements
• Increased pressure on the pelvic floor
• Potential worsening of issues like constipation, hemorrhoids, and pelvic floor dysfunction over time

So why does this matter in the long run?

Chronic straining puts repeated downward pressure on the pelvic floor, which can contribute to:
• Pelvic floor weakening
• Symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse
• Worsening urinary urgency or leakage
• Ongoing constipation or incomplete emptying

Optimizing your toilet posture is a simple, powerful way to support both bowel function and pelvic floor health.

Your pelvic floor works all day — giving it better mechanics during bathroom time is a small shift with a big payoff.

Your body will thank you!

Ever notice that when you Google urinary leakage, the first results are pads, liners, and “discreet” underwear…but not treatment?

This is what happens when a completely treatable condition gets normalized as “just part of aging.”

Leakage becomes something you’re taught to manage, hide, or absorb — instead of something you can actually heal.

But urinary incontinence isn’t inevitable.
It isn’t “normal.”
And it absolutely isn’t something you need to live with forever.

Your bladder deserves more than products that cover the problem.
It deserves care, attention, and treatment that addresses the root cause.
Pelvic floor PT can make lasting, meaningful changes, not temporary fixes.

Let’s shift the narrative.
Let’s push for solutions, not just supplies.
