Residents tried a fun twist on bingo this past week and gave SINGO a try. What a fun twist on bingo using songs instead of numbers! Residents loved reminiscing and sharing memories while enjoying familiar tunes.

Our Restorative Department introduced vibration plate therapy primarily to assist with pain management. Since its implementation, we have observed significant improvements in our residents, including reduced lymphedema and increased circulation. Furthermore, consistent use has proven effective in alleviating neuropathy, leg pain, and Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS), leading to a measurable increase in sleep quality.

What a beautiful season of faith and fellowship we’ve shared at North Star Manor! From reflective services to joyful celebrations, our hearts are full as we look back on our Easter and Lent events.

We kicked off the season with Palm Sunday, hosting two beautiful services and a special "Sunday Dinner" set with our lovely china; it was a joy to see so many smiles as residents shared heartfelt stories of their own family traditions. The fun continued with Easter Bonnet Bingo, where a large group gathered for some friendly competition, festive laughs, and wonderful Easter decor prizes!

Our residents also tapped into their creative sides with Resurrection Tomb crafts, providing a meaningful space for conversation and reflection on the Easter story.

Finally, we held a powerful Good Friday service with a wonderful crowd in attendance. We want to extend a special thank you to Hank Bergman, Carol Monroe, Evelyn Skjerven, and Pastor Dann for reading the Passion of Jesus Christ, and to Neil Krueger for the beautiful music. Having Pastor Dann's wife, Jennifer, parents, and three of his daughters join us made the service feel truly complete.

Our residents are proving that age is just a number and boxing is no match for this crew! We’ve been working on our coordination and strength, and let’s just say the bag didn't stand a chance. There is nothing like a little friendly competition and movement to keep us feeling our best!

A massive thank you to North Star Way for organizing our Soup and Chili Cook-Off and bringing us all together. We’re still recovering from the food coma, but it was worth every bite!

On Monday we enjoyed a delightful afternoon celebrating National Puppy Day. Residents played Puppy Bingo and enjoyed puppy chow and Puppy Punch for lunch. We were also visited by two adorable puppies—Star Johnson with her dog, Macie Mae, and Tina Safranski with her dog, Bella. To add to the fun, Isabelle and Judy dressed up as puppies, making the day even more memorable.

What better way to welcome the first day of spring than with a trip to the Viking Diner! Our residents enjoyed a wonderful springtime outing filled with good conversation and a hearty meal of traditional klub. There’s nothing like a favorite local dish to kick off a new season!

A huge thank you to the First Lutheran Church Ladies for hosting such a wonderful afternoon! We celebrated this month’s birthdays in the best way possible: with delicious cupcakes, ice cream, and the beautiful sounds of Dylan Nicholls on the piano.
