Sometimes you need a recap to remind yourself just how far you’ve come from where you started and how God has been guiding you through it all.

Over this past year it’s been a slow yet steady journey of getting this space open, one that required a ton of patience and blind faith because it’s been countless no not yets, deadline delays, surprise repairs, painting days and just lot of headache causing moments.

I definitely didn’t anticipate this process to take this long but I’m grateful for the progress we’ve made so far and I’m even more excited to update our community that our studio space just finally passed all of its city building inspections. (James 1 : 2-4)

God willingly, our doors will be open to you all soon, with full programming come spring, but again all in His divine time☺️🧡🧘🏾‍♀️. We aim to be here for a long time not just a good time.

Happily hosted yet another session of self care and restoration. Our first midweek reset of the year was so relaxing and had me sleeping like a baby afterwards.

Definitely a must to experience. Check us out next week for a special Galentines class!

Guiding others to find mental rest, even if it’s just for a hour has been so soul fulfilling….From our very first community class in the spring for my YTT completion, to our classes in the park during the summer, to our fall wellness workshops to our very last class of the year before Christmas…. The year 2024 has been a beautiful start for Studio 1818 Wellness Club and I’ve been loving to watch it grow. Excited for all’s to come for us in this new year.

Letting go of what no longer serves us ….so that we can make room for more of what makes us happy 🧡. Our full moon workshop this fall, was so therapeutic. We started off with pen to plate release exercise followed by a full moon gentle yin flow filled with release affirmations then we got to letting go and breaking plates under the last super moon of the year. Can’t wait for more of these workshops to come in the new year 🧘🏽‍♀️🌕🧘🏾‍♀️🌕

Woke up with so much gratitude in my heart this Thanksgiving morning for the community we’ve been building since the start of our fall residency inside Afro Herbalist LLC.

Pressing pause isn’t always easy when there is constant day to day stressors present but our 1818 yogis really been doing the hard work by showing up for themselves weekly at our midweek restorative class, to rest and reset….& I’m just so proud & grateful🥹.

As the fall weather sets in and SAD (seasonal affective disorder) tries to creep in for alot of us, I will be offering a few different ways for us to consistently show some self love to ourselves through moving our bodies, which will in turn, keep our minds in elevated states.

Wednesdays I’m still teaching our free community classes at 7p. Its a great way to get a feel for the flow of my yoga classes

Saturdays I’m teaching a refreshing morning yin yoga class at 8am

and

I’m also facilitating our ballet club meetups at 10a, check weekly for which dance studio we will be practicing at, but this is a great way to reconnect with your inner child.

And lastly starting on Sunday, the 20th I’ll be bringing back my restorative yoga series: Restore and Relax. I received great feedback for this class over the summer, but it was just a drop in class then so for this fall I wanted to make it into a 6 week part class, where we can really build on easing our mind into rest weekly. Expect to use a variety of props as we incorporate breath work, mindful journaling and mediation to reach a deeper level of relaxation, self awareness and restoration. More details will follow for this one.
