Potter's Pups of Aruba

Potter's Pups of Aruba Dogs are rescued from the island of Aruba and brought to the states to find homes for them. Your donation is tax deductible.

The Island of Aruba may be small, approx. 7x19 miles, but it has a very big animal overpopulation problem. Many of the 20,000 owned dogs are unaltered and allowed to roam freely. Thousands of homeless dogs and cats have been and continue to be born. These animals are forced to live on the streets, in rough terrain, at the garbage dump or on beaches and must continually search for food, water and shelter. Since they receive no medical care, many contract tick borne or other diseases, become heartworm positive and live a life of suffering. Our organization, Annies Faith Foundation (AFF) was formed by a group of concerned tourists who were greatly disturbed by the number of homeless, hungry and sick dogs they were seeing on the Island. This small group works to spay/neuter as many homeless dogs and cats as possible and to educate the residents about the importance of sterilizing their own pets to help with the overpopulation crisis. Presently, homeless animals are gathered by the Aruban government or turned in by the residents and killed, resulting in over 8,000 deaths each year. AFF works to save dogs and cats off the streets, providing them with veterinary care, spay/neutering, food and foster homes until a forever home can be found in Aruba, the United States or Canada. When an adoptive or foster home is found in the states or Canada, AFF coordinates with tourists who are getting ready to make a return flight to a destination close to the animal's new adoptive or foster home. Tourists will escort the animal for the flight and upon reaching their destination, an AFF member will meet them at baggage claim and coordinate getting the dog or cat the rest of the way. So I’ve been thinking long & hard on this one & since it’s been heavy on my heart I have been praying 🙏about it. What it comes down to is that I can’t let this beautiful cunucu go back to the dirty chicken 🐓cage to live in f***s. It was brought to my attention that after he was neutered he was to return to his owner bc there are no fosters or prospects avaiable for Thor.  We, meaning all of you, did such an amazing job with helping Snickerdoodle that I am praying that we can also help Thor. 🐶Because there are no other options he will only be able to board in the doggie hotel in order to break him free of his terrible living conditions. I would almost rather be a street dog then to be caged in a dark dirty chicken cage. This to me is so inhumane & to know this & not try & help him makes me sick in the pit of my stomach.
First off, I want to thank each & everyone of you that made it possible for Snickerdoodle & ask you all for your support again with Thor. Let’s get him boarded, where he can get the training & care he deserves then raise some money to get him on the next freedom flight in April/May. This will require that we find him a foster in FL or a forever home. I know it’s a challenge but no one said doing the right thing was easy all the time.
My heart bleeds for these cunucus. I am genuinely in love with the breed, the cause & the outcomes when we get involved. I also know that there is no way in the world we could do it alone without you. So thank you for sharing our posts & making a difference. Let’s save as many cunucs as we can. 🐾❤️

🛟 Important 💔😭 Please Share 🛟💔
Hi everyone we have not been accepting any puppies now for a few weeks and it has been absolutely agonizing 😢 We get cries for help and threats that if No one comes to get their puppies that they will be dumping them at the kill cage 🥺 We have even gotten calls that they will bury them alive 💔💔💔 We get these calls and messages Multiple times a day. It’s very hard to not have an emotional breakdown when we know we are so full and we Can NoT help 😢 We are busting at the seams. We try to explain that we Can’t Save all of them it’s just Not possible!!! We are a tiny team like all of you know. We always have too many We want to help more but it’s just Not Possible! Locals (NOT ALL) use the kill cage as their solution for all the unwanted puppies. It’s an easy fix throw them in a box and dump them… problem solved. Other puppies are born on the streets and they slowly starve to death get horrible painful diseases like Parvo they get hit by cars Even eaten by boas and eaten alive by ticks and fleas parasites mange mites lice 😭 The suffering that goes on on this island is unimaginable and horrific. We know everyone will say put a tax on each tourist to help the animals or get vets to come to Aruba to spay all the street dogs! Put laws in place!!! YES of course we all agree BUT NLFP can’t do that! We all have fantastic ideas But how do we force the government to care? How do we force them to have a heart and soul???? It’s the people at the top that can make All of these changes But they don’t?? Why? Because they don’t care! Because they have the same mentality that all the abusive locals have! 💔 AGAIN NOT ALL LOCALS *Many* locals are AMAZING beautiful compassionate animal lovers! Many Locals are fosters in Aruba and run the rescues on the island (want to make that crystal clear) But since I have been in this rescue world (decades) nothing has changed it’s gotten a million times worse. We raise money and spay the street dogs Now they hired dog catchers to go around in a truck and pick them up to bring to the kill cage! If you are caught feeding the street dogs they give out very large fines! One lady had to go to court for feeding and caring for the dogs in her neighborhood they were fining her $1,000. Animal abuse fine which in Not implemented is 25 florins (I think) What is WRONG with this???? And how do we make the people that can make the changes LISTEN TO ALL OF US?? The few rescues are EXHAUSTED! For me this has taken a huge toll on my family and my life and the amount of work involved is unbelievable 24/7 365 days a year 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 We are tired Natalya is broken in half if any of you know her she puts her heart and soul into every single animal she rescues. She is an Angel on this earth. She is so mentally and physically exhausted 😩
We have had many tourists finding puppies lately and they beg for help and we have had to say NO if we had room we would rescue them
Ourselves 🥺🥺 So now on their vacations they are trying to save puppies… that’s SO messed up Aruba 🇦🇼 Please WE ARE BEGGING YOU TO MAKE CHANGES!

1) Fund a spay campaign SO all the dogs can be fixed

2) LAWS LAWS LAWS Heavy Fines for animal ABUSE ITS ON EVERY SINGLE DAM CORNER OF THAT ISLAND

3) NO BREEDING

4) No dog fights 😠

5) EDUCATE THE YOUNG KIDS IN SCHOOL

6) advertise on TV and the radio Bill Boards across the island Promoting Spaying your animals!

7) Build a shelter A real Shelter A state of the art shelter with vets on hand 24/7

8 ) ONCE THATS ALL DONE

Sorry to continue and again ask for money like we always do but we want to open our door to rescue 🛟 again and we have 4 litters that are desperately needing help IF WE SAY NO these babies have NO Chance.
We have till Tuesday. We need to raise a real lot of money to commit to all of them. We are NOT going to show pictures of the 25 pups that are in danger of the kill cage because we are afraid they won’t give us the time we need to raise the money by publicity Shaming them.
The pictures I’m posting are NLFP pups getting healthy and getting ready to fly!
EACH AND EVERYONE OF THEM DESERVES TO BE RESCUED BUT WE ARE DESPERATE FOR YOUR HELP!!
