Calling all high school students interested in healthcare! 🏥

ECHO Camp at WMMC gives students a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to work in a hospital. Through hands-on activities, job shadowing, and time with our medical professionals, students explore the many careers that make healthcare possible.

Participants will experience departments like the Emergency Department, Obstetrics, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory Services, and more.

In this KOKO Radio interview, Dr. Giurgius discusses the importance of colorectal cancer screening, including:
👉Those at normal risk should start a colonoscopy at age 45
👉Individuals with higher-risk factors may need to start earlier
👉Common risk factors include diet, physical activity, smoking, family history, and certain medical conditions

A colonoscopy can detect cancer early—when it’s most treatable—and even prevent it by removing polyps before they become cancerous.

We’re pleased to share that MRI services are now available again at the hospital with an industry leading mobile MRI unit, operating seven days a week and located outside the Emergency Department.

We know this service disruption created challenges, and we sincerely apologize. MRI imaging is critical to patient care, and restoring access was a top priority for our team.
