Yesterday, Dr. Scott Koenig demonstrated the new VELYS™ (pronounced VEL-iss) robotic-assisted surgical technology at Fauquier Health. This state-of-the-art system helps optimize the positioning of prosthetic knee implants based on each individual’s specific anatomy. Along with Dr. Koenig’s tendon-sparing approach to knee surgery, this technology can help provide a more natural-feeling joint, a greater range of motion and, potentially, a faster recovery.

Dr. Koenig also uses a less invasive technique with computer-navigated assistance for total hip replacements.
