Bring a smile to a local child’s face this holiday season by donating a new, unwrapped toy to Fauquier County Toys For Tots! We understand there has been a surge in applications this year, with a greater need for children ages 13-17. We have drop-off boxes at both entrances of our Warrenton office and are collecting toys through Friday, Dec. 12.

ICYMI - As the Thanksgiving holiday comes to a close, we’re thrilled to report Physical Therapist Jacqueline Mayes and her family have been joyously reunited with their dog Sarge after nine months. Those of you who have been following the group SARGE HOME learned of the reunion a few weeks ago which was facilitated by a tip posted in the group. We can only imagine how thankful Jacqueline’s family must feel!

Here at Blue Ridge Ortho, we’re proud of our radiologic technologists, who are truly remarkable at putting patients at ease and will go to great lengths to accommodate our patients’ physical limitations and pain levels and still get quality images quickly and accurately. Also, they all have a great sense of humor.

For a group that specializes in imaging, our Rad Tech team is, ironically, not an easy group to photograph. So, while we continue to try to get a photo of all of them in one place at one time, here's a photo of Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen instead. He discovered the x-ray on Nov. 8, 1895.

Meet Elaine Casey, a patient of Blue Ridge who also happens to be our radiology supervisor and a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Stabbing shoulder pain was making life harder for Elaine, including her job and cheering for her favorite team.

Fortunately, Dr. Robert Smith has been able to successfully treat Elaine’s shoulder pain, despite the fact he’s a huge Baltimore Ravens fan. Anyone who follows the NFL knows the Steelers and Ravens have one of the most intense rivalries in the league.

So, is this proof that great healthcare transcends rivalries? We think so.
