Yesterday was a truly special day for the team members who had the privilege of attending the Tunnel to Towers home dedication for U.S. Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Paul Hurley and his deserving family. It was an honor to witness the deep patriotism within our community and to learn more about the extraordinary ways the Tunnel to Towers Foundation has supported veterans and first responders since its founding in the aftermath of 9/11.

We encourage you to visit their page, learn more about Stephen Siller’s story, and see firsthand how his act of courage continues to make an immeasurable impact on so many lives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Willing Warriors and all the skilled hands that went into the making of these beautifully crafted quilts for our residents. A warm, hand-stitched blanket is certainly an item that will make PVCC feel more like home to our Veterans.

Willing Warriors is a privately funded charitable organization, dedicated to providing cost free retreat stays and programs were wounded, ill, and injured service members, disabled veterans, and their families can spend quality time together and reconnect. Programs focus on educational and recreational activities to include seminars that address living with PTS and TBI. We encourage you to check out their website and prepare to be inspired!

Our team truly showed their strength during the winter storm this past weekend. Here are just a few of the MANY faces who put aside their personal lives, stepped up without hesitation, and ensured our residents had everything they needed while safely sheltered in. We couldn’t be prouder of the incredible team we’re building here at PVCC! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all that you do!

Last week, we had the honor of welcoming Retired Staff Sergeant George Jones, a combat medic who served our country during three tours in Vietnam. He shared powerful stories from his service, giving us a glimpse into the courage and sacrifice of our veterans.

This event marked the second edition of Combat Coffee Club— a monthly gathering at our center that brings veterans together to share experiences, connect, and build community. We are grateful for the opportunity to hear his story and spend time in fellowship with veterans from PVCC and beyond.
