This month’s Combat Coffee Club attendees received quite the blessing, thanks to the Alexandria Chapter of the Gold Star Mothers and Mission BBQ, as we held an early celebration in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day.

They didn’t just show up—they showed out—bringing an incredible lineup of distinguished guests who shared their time, stories, and unwavering support with our residents and the greater veteran community. We were honored to be joined by representatives from the American Gold Star Mothers, Blue Star Mothers, AMVETS, Sentinels from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and visiting Vietnam veterans from our local community.

It was a time filled with reflection, connection, and deep appreciation for the service and sacrifice of so many.

Our guys took over the courtyard today—soaking up the sunshine, sharing stories, and proving they’ve still got more charm (and better one-liners) than the rest of us combined.

Let’s just say… the sun understood it had some competition today 😉

Today, PVCC welcomed Chuck Harris of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 227. Harris was a helicopter pilot with over 1500 combat missions and was in Hamburger Hill and the siege of An loc. He shared his experience with residents, staff, and veterans from the community during our monthly Combat Coffee Club.
