👻It’s Halloween Week🎃
We made Witches Hat cookies, played ‘What’s in the Bag’ Game which consisted of a scary story and feeling creepy things and guessing what they were.
Then we carved pumpkins and played a Candy Dice Game!
We are so excited for this week full of Halloween fun! 🎃❤️

**Guest Speaker of the Month**

Deborah Current
Deborah taught in the Warren County R-III School District for 31 years. She taught at Rebecca Boone Elementary. 29 of those years she taught in fourth grade which she was absolutely in love with.
Mrs. Current was mentored by our lovely resident Mary when Mary taught in the district as well. She was the teacher who Mrs. Current shadowed during her student teaching before she started her career!

Mrs. Current gave an example of what her day as a teacher was like, her philosophy and what she felt was the most important part in education. She also brought leaves and had the residents label what Missouri tree they belonged too.
Mrs. Current said she always knew she wanted to be a teacher and was able to follow her dreams until she retired.

Many of our residents are retired school teachers and enjoyed hearing our guest speaker of the month! ❤️

~Octobers Resident of the Month is Brad~

Brad was raised in Oklahoma! He moved to Missouri and to Oak Pointe this past May! Brad says his favorite thing about Oak Pointe is how friendly everyone is. Brad was married for 46 years. They did not have children but had dogs who they loved dearly. Brad spent most of his time working. He worked on Gas Compressors overseas for many, many years. Brad loves to go out and eat prime rib. His favorite color is blue! Brad loves spending free time watching his favorite TV show, Big Bang Theory. A fun fact about Brad that many do not know is that he was born in Indiana. Brad is always smiling and friendly to everyone he interacts with. He is a joy to have at Oak Pointe!
