What a Week at Warrenton Woods ☕🚗🍂
What. A. Week. My Jeep decided it had lived a good life and went p**f — so now I’m officially rolling around in the Telluride. A little fancier, a little bigger, and definitely more “Warrenton Woods field trip” approved.
The week started off slow for admissions and calls, so I switched into full-on hustle mode — emails, phone calls, outreach, letting everyone know we’ve got beds ready and waiting. It’s been a pretty typical October in the recovery world: quiet one minute, chaos the next.
Yesterday I got to head out to The Valley to see some of my favorite people, talk about Warrenton Woods, and enjoy a great lunch (networking calories don’t count).
Then came today — our Recovery Event in Fredericksburg, VA, and wow, what a day! A little chilly (67° felt like 47°), but the turnout was amazing. Probation, parole, defenders, judges, police, fire — everyone showed up to support recovery. The teamwork was incredible.
A huge shoutout to Jessica Compton for pulling it all together. The food truck was next-level — best decision ever. (If I could tag them, I would, because those fries deserve an award.)
We missed a few familiar faces but we’ll catch them at the next one. I even got to talk about Warrenton Woods all day long — dream job, right?
The best part — phones picked up today and next week is already looking busy. Here’s to a full census, good coffee, great people, and a Telluride that better hold up longer than my Jeep!
