🚧 Career exploration in action!
Students from the Little Friends Skill Development Program recently visited Skyjack for an exciting behind‑the‑scenes tour of the company. Led by Ken Rudny, students learned about Skyjack’s history and its growth into a global manufacturer of aerial work platforms and lifting equipment.
From customer service and sales to order fulfillment inside the massive warehouse, students explored the many roles that keep the business running. One of the highlights? Trying on the safety harnesses used when operating boom lifts—making the experience hands‑on, interactive, and fun!

🌼 Spring Family Respite Registration is NOW OPEN! 🌼

Our spring session runs April 6 – May 30, with weekly programs held Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30–7:30 pm at 27555 Diehl Road, Warrenville (Door A).
Little Friends Family Respite Services offers caregivers a much‑needed break while children with special needs—and their siblings—enjoy a safe, structured, and fun environment. Each multi‑week session includes a mix of indoor and outdoor activities that promote learning, play, and socialization.
Thanks to generous community support, this program is completely free for children ages 3–17 and their siblings.

Special thanks to the City of Warrenville Government and Mayor Andrew Johnson for taking the time to meet with our VSP High School, Mansion High School, and transition students! Mayor Johnson shared his journey to becoming mayor, what the role entails, his accomplishments, and the challenges he's faced along the way. Students wrapped up the visit with a great Q & A session.

Students in Little Friends’ Skill Development Program recently welcomed guest speaker Emily Ronan from AIM‑CIL for an empowering conversation on workplace self‑advocacy. 💼✨
Emily led an engaging discussion on disability disclosure—exploring how, when, and if to share that information with an employer—and why self‑advocacy matters. Students learned how to speak up for their needs, understand their rights, and confidently request reasonable accommodations to support success on the job.
With thoughtful questions and shared experiences, students gained practical tips for communicating with supervisors and coworkers—building confidence, independence, and the skills needed to thrive in the workplace.
