Check out "The Special" being offered by Bakehouse 23 and The Grove Coffee Collective.

Everyone deserves a warm start to the day! Some mornings are harder than others, and no one should start the day hungry. With SNAP benefits ending and food insecurity on the rise, we want to do what we can to care for our neighbors. At Bakehouse 23, we’re offering free baked oatmeal or bread pudding to anyone who needs a hot breakfast — for you and your kids. Our friends at The Grove Coffee are joining in, providing a free hot coffee for adults or a milk for the little ones. Just come in and order “The Special.” There are no questions and no judgment, just neighbors caring for neighbors and a warm meal made with love.

If you’d like to donate to our efforts we will have a donation jar out on the counter or Venmo @ bakehouse23cafe!

At the end of our last CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) training, we asked the local first responders, law enforcement officers, and service providers what they learned.
Couldn't we all use these reminders sometimes?

Be present.
Listen to understand.
Avoid assumptions.
Be patient.
Be vulnerable.
