Meet One of Our Shining Lights in Navigation — Christine!

As we celebrate National Oncology Navigator Day on Dec. 9th, we’re proud to highlight Christine, whose warmth, empathy, and unwavering dedication brighten every corner of the breast center.

Scott shared, “Christine is a well-rounded, empathetic, and truly caring navigator. I’ve seen countless times when a patient arrives nervous for their biopsy and leaves relieved, smiling, and even laughing with Christine by their side. She has a gift for helping people open up, bringing them out of their shell, and making those around her feel genuinely supported.”

Christine, thank you for the compassion, joy, and comfort you bring to your patients and your community every single day.

Our goal at NCBC is to improve breast‑care delivery, support innovation, and ensure patients receive the most effective treatments. Studies like this push the boundary of what’s possible in precision care.

For breast‑centers, care providers, and advocates this means: exploring new tools, understanding how AI and multimodal data might integrate into clinical workflows, and ultimately enhancing patient safety and outcomes.

We encourage all clinicians, breast center leaders, researchers, and advocates in the breast‑care realm to take a look at this article. It’s a vivid example of how cutting‑edge technology and data science are making a difference.

Big news in breast-health access!

We’re proud to see Color Health and Google Cloud joining forces to launch a new platform that uses advanced AI tools — including Google’s Gemini 2.5 large language models — to streamline eligibility assessments and scheduling for breast cancer screening.

With this initiative, women 40+ and high-risk individuals can more easily access mammograms, ultrasounds, and breast MRIs — with coordinated follow-up when needed.

At NCBC, our mission is to improve patient access, safety, and outcomes in breast centers nationwide. We welcome innovations like this that help remove real-world barriers to care.

Black women face a higher risk of developing a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer known as Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) — a disease that often doesn’t begin with a lump.

This powerful article from Texas Metro News explains what every woman should know about IBC, especially in communities where awareness and access to care are limited.

Key things to know:

IBC may appear as redness, swelling, warmth, or skin changes—not always a lump.
