Big news in breast-health access!

We’re proud to see Color Health and Google Cloud joining forces to launch a new platform that uses advanced AI tools — including Google’s Gemini 2.5 large language models — to streamline eligibility assessments and scheduling for breast cancer screening.

With this initiative, women 40+ and high-risk individuals can more easily access mammograms, ultrasounds, and breast MRIs — with coordinated follow-up when needed.

At NCBC, our mission is to improve patient access, safety, and outcomes in breast centers nationwide. We welcome innovations like this that help remove real-world barriers to care.

When it’s not just a lump — please read, share, and act.

Black women face a higher risk of developing a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer known as Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) — a disease that often doesn’t begin with a lump.

This powerful article from Texas Metro News explains what every woman should know about IBC, especially in communities where awareness and access to care are limited.

👉 Read here

https://texasmetronews.com/102049/when-its-not-just-a-lump-what-black-women-need-to-know-about-inflammatory-breast-cancer/

Key things to know:

IBC may appear as redness, swelling, warmth, or skin changes—not always a lump.

Early recognition and prompt medical evaluation can make a lifesaving difference.

Education, equity, and access to care are vital in improving outcomes.

At the National Consortium of Breast Centers (NCBC), we’re committed to raising awareness and improving breast care for all. Let’s continue to spread the word and support early detection—because awareness saves lives. INFLAMMATORY BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION

Survivor Spotlight: Sameerah Abdul-Jami

Inflammatory Breast Cancer Survivor & NCBC Survivor Soirée Participant

A vibrant wife, mother, and woman of faith, she is a survivor of Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC)—one of the most aggressive and misunderstood forms of breast cancer. Sameerah openly shares her story to help other women, especially in communities where IBC often goes undetected or misdiagnosed, recognize the warning signs and advocate for themselves.

Sameerah knows firsthand how quickly symptoms can appear and how easily they can be mistaken for an infection or irritation. She now uses her voice to educate others on what to look for and to encourage early action.
