Sometimes a little advice sticks with you forever.

I remember making one of those little construction-paper booklets in school (I still have it), where there was a line to write what I wanted to be when I grew up.

In crayon, I wrote: “Doctor or lawyer.” After a conversation with my dad, the lawyer ambition faded. He told me there were too many lawyers, and that I should be a doctor—“That way, you will be able to help people.”

From that conversation, a desire to serve and help others sparked. Even as a teenager, I gravitated toward kids and loved making them smile.

Today, that’s exactly what I get to do every day in my practice—creating beautiful smiles, building trust, and helping children discover their confidence along the way. 💜
