Hello! My name is Kristen, and I founded adaptABLE Physical Therapy and Consulting in 2020. My original goal was to improve accessibility to equipment for people with disabilities, noticing how many people were missing primary care, dental, neurology, and other important appointments when their wheelchairs didn’t work for their needs. Having the right equipment, especially wheelchairs, is so important for accessing healthcare and preventing unnecessary complications like reduced independence, skin integrity issues, and infection.
Starting solo, I completed in-home wheelchair assessments to remove the need for transportation and streamline the tedious ordering process. After all, it is very difficult to get to a wheelchair appointment if your wheelchair doesn’t work! Now adaptABLE has a new brick and mortar location and multiple physical, speech, and occupational therapists on staff. We exclusively serve the disabled population in home, clinic, and community and we help with far more than just wheelchairs!
I truly couldn’t be more proud of the amazing adaptABLE staff as we continue to expand our mission. We are so lucky to have the best team!
