The BeyondBarre Fitness Method is a cardio-infused workout method that uses classical ballet barre exercises to strengthen and develop long, lean muscles. The workout method includes upper-body sculpting, a stomach-flattening abdominal series and the BeyondBarre Glide Board—a slippery surface designed for sliding back and forth like an ice skater—which adds fat-burning cardio for a true total-body workout. Balls, bands and light weights can be incorporated into BeyondBarre workout for extra challenge and fun. Don't be afraid of being a beginner.

We all start at the beginning.
-
I frequently I hear, ” I can't do Pilates (or Barre or Yoga) because I have never done it before.”
-
And every time I hear it I think how wonderful to be able to start one of these fitness disciplines anew!

I clearly remember being nervous going to my first Pilates class. Not sure at all what to expect..Looking at the equipment as some sort of intriguing, albeit a touch scary, midevil apparatus.

I remember how comfortable and supported my body felt on the reformer. I remember being amazed at how it adjusted to my individual body. I remember how smooth the carriage moved out and in. I remember the sound of the springs as they worked resistance into the exercises.

Find a studio close to you and be a beginner. It's worth it. I promise.

Keep watch for the beauty that blooms even in adversity.
On my way to film a BeyondBarre virtual class I walked past this snapdragon growing outside . This little flower is such an inspiration! Unbelievably, it’s thriving whilst literally living between a rock and a hard place.

Looking for something to spice up the ho-hum sit-up? Try this spine massaging variation.
With the hands at the base of the head and elbows wide, curl up to a sitting position. At the top of the sit-up, lift up long through the spine - think crown of the head to the sky - and twist to the right. Re-center and roll back down through the vertebrae. Repeat and change the direction of the twist.
Let me know how you like this spine massaging, oblique activating version of the sit-up. 💪 💫

Incorporating a small ball into your workouts will help keep the knees and feet tracking properly. And there’s a summer shorts bonus. Adding a small fitness ball to the BeyondBarre work gives the thighs a little extra toning and tightening.

When you feel strong, you feel confident and when you feel confident you feel good.
💫This is why I workout!
💫What’s your workout motivation?
Today I’m finding strength in my body with this plank series.
🔸As I’m moving through these exercises I feel my core muscles deepening.
🔸I feel my center hugging in to stabilize my torso.
🔸I feel my arms (from my wrists to my shoulders) strengthen to support me.
🔸I feel my back muscles engaged and my spine lengthening.
And although I may also feel exhausted and sweaty.... I feel good knowing that I’m doing something good for me.
