🚨 Rhode Island SNAP Emergency Update 🚨
Governor Dan McKee has declared a State of Emergency as federal SNAP funding is set to end on November 1 due to the ongoing government shutdown. More than 140,000 Rhode Islanders rely on SNAP benefits.
Here’s what families need to know:
🍎 Families with children will receive 50% of their benefits on EBT cards.
🚫 Adults without children may not receive benefits at this time.
🏦 The Rhode Island Foundation and the State of Rhode Island are providing $1 million in emergency funding to support food banks and local nonprofits that help get food to those in need.
