Our Health Concepts Food & Nutrition Services teams partnered with local community bakeries to celebrate St. Joseph’s Day by sharing delicious zeppole with residents and staff. These beloved Italian treats are a Rhode Island favorite and brought smiles all around! ✨

St. Joseph's Day is a celebration that honors Saint Joseph for ending a drought in Sicily that led to a famine, prompting people to pray for relief. In gratitude to St. Jospeh, feast's were prepared and shared with the less fortunate, which became a tradition of sharing and giving.

Zeppoles became a part of that tradition and are still enjoyed today as a sweet way to celebrate. We loved seeing so many smiles as we enjoyed our zeppoles together, along with wearing lots of red to honor Saint Joseph. ❤️

As the old saying goes "everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day"! Our resident dressed in festive attire for the day. We played "Pot of Gold" and "Roll a Leprechaun" to win some prizes then we treated ourselves to some sweet, green, delicious treats!
