This Women’s History Month, we are celebrating the women whose leadership drives our mission forward every day.
Throughout March, we will be sharing responses from the incredible women on Thrive’s leadership team, highlighting their journeys, insights, and what inspires them.
We are honored to begin with Angela Ortiz, our Chief Human Resources Officer.
Strong organizations are built by strong leaders, and we are proud to recognize ours.

Yesterday’s blizzard may have passed, but the stress can linger. ❄️

Severe weather can leave more than snow behind. It can disrupt routines, increase anxiety, and leave many feeling unsettled or drained.

If you’re still feeling on edge today, that’s completely understandable.

Small steps can help:

Focus on what you can control.
Limit constant storm updates.
Reach out for connection.
Give yourself space to reset.

Be gentle with yourself as Rhode Island recovers. 💙

Black History Month is a time to honor history, resilience, and community and to recognize that Black individuals often face unique barriers in accessing behavioral health care.

Stigma, systemic inequities, and gaps in culturally responsive care continue to impact mental health and well-being. That reality deserves attention, not just this month, but all year long.

We’re highlighting Black-led mental health organizations and resources that support Black communities of all ages and identities. If you or someone you care about could use support, we invite you to explore and connect with what feels right💙

✨ We’re proud to be part of the progress. ✨

We’re honored to be featured in Providence Business News for our role in a new ambulatory withdrawal management program that is proving to be a true success story.

At Thrive Behavioral Health, we are committed to meeting people where they are and offering compassionate, evidence-based support that provides a safe and dignified alternative to inpatient withdrawal care. This program is helping individuals begin recovery in a setting that prioritizes stability, accessibility, and hope.

We’re grateful to be part of innovative solutions that are making a real difference for our Rhode Island community.

ICYMI: Our partnership with the Warwick Police Department is helping make behavioral health care more accessible, when and where it’s needed most.

Through the MyCare pilot, officers and Thrive crisis teams can connect people experiencing a mental health emergency with clinicians on the spot. It’s one more way we’re embedded in the Kent County community, working alongside local partners to support safety, dignity, and better outcomes.

Thrive's Director of Development Jessica Lachey volunteered to participate with Thrive's Outreach Team for the 2026 Point In Time Count.

She notes, “Taking part in the Point-in-Time Count reinforces why Thrive's work matters every single day. Freezing temperatures and 24 inches of snow made it a stark reminder of what Rhode Island’s most vulnerable population faces. Being there, listening, and acknowledging someone’s presence felt small in the moment but so important for the bigger picture. It was an experience that stayed with me long after the night ended, reshaping how I understand homelessness and the importance of showing up with compassion.”
