THANKSGIVING FASHION. Not to take away from family or food but… wished for this # to get a permanent place in IG world as well. I’ve had this dress for YEARS. I seldom wear it, but it’s always a bit of a show stopper when I do. This year it felt LOOSE below the belt?? I have no idea. Must assess other dresses to get a true read of body morphing. AnyWho! Hope everyone wore garments for the holiday that made them feel sexy & fabulous! Love to all!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! 🦃🍁

Hope everyone had a great day celebrating however you desired.

Really enjoyed time w my family & how ADULT Ella is becoming! Loved looking through her lens @ what she’s learning @ school & how that is translating into her understanding of interpersonal relationships! Amazing!

Adored the spirit of cooperation & collaboration w our joint made meal & receiving lots of help from my sister in law who basically filled the role of co-host. 🙏

Love that dinner gets set for 1, I’m ready @ 1:30, people show @ 2, & leaving isn’t considered until after 9. 🤪🥰🙌

My family is fun, easy, helpful, & interested in having a good time - & for these things I’m repeatedly grateful for.

Hope your bellies & hearts are still full from all the food & gratitude from yesterday.

THE INCONVENIENCE OF EATING

What’s your most precious resource?

TIME.

What happens as a busy professional mom who’s running around, short on time & big on responsibilities?

EATING BECOMES INCONVENIENT.

It takes you away from what you need/want to do.

& if you do eek out what resembles a lunch break

your eating is rushed, less than ideal, & often barely even tasted. 😑

What if we took the NEED to eat out of the equation? 🤪

What if it was EASY & SUPPORTIVE to NOT EAT when it wasn’t convenient

& only eat when it was?

HIGH PROTEIN MAC & CHEESE

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE

I’m super curious about BOTH of these options, using butternut SQUASH, & incorporating a variety of pastas.

And as a side note - I would NOT recommend Barilla.

It might be higher in protein but it’s still high in carbs & calories.

Kaizan low carb pasta is better IMO as it has WAY less carbs, but is still considerable for calories.

Ingredients:
· Butternut squash (1 Medium)
· White Onion (1 Medium)
· Garlic (5 cloves)
· Olive Oil (1 tbsp)
· Cottage cheese (1.5 cups)
· Skim Milk (3/4 cup)
· Nutritional yeast (1/2 cup)
· Reduced-fat shredded cheese (1 cup plus 1 cup for topping)
· Salt + pepper, to taste
· High Protein Pasta (16 oz) + Pasta Water (1/2 cup)

*******************

SMALLER SAM

1 TBS Olive oil
1/2 shallot
2 TBS minced garlic
2 TBS flour
1/2 c milk
24 oz low fat cottage cheese
1 box protein pasta (I’ve yet to try this but am curious)
32oz/quart + 1.5 cups chicken bone broth
Minced onion
Salt & pepper
2 TBS nutritional yeast
1 c reduced fat sharp cheddar cheese
(Might need to add a little cornstarch to thicken slightly)
*if you want to bake & create a crust
1 cup reduced fat sharp cheddar
Broil on high for a couple min

I took this photo ages ago, but these, “incentives”, could still bear to be examined.

THE CARROT:

- REWARDS! Treats if you’re GOOD! Dessert b/c you worked out. 🤪. Rationalization of deviation b/c you EARNED something.

THE WHIP:

- PUNISHMENT! No Pain No Gain. Getting a, “good” = HARD, workout in. Teeny tiny portions or amounts of what you love. Never doing enough in the effort. 😢

THE FEATHER: (my favorite 😉)

- PLEASURE THROUGHOUT. Doing what’s GOOD for you b/c it FEELS GOOD to you. Making supportive choices b/c they’re easy. Prioritizing FEELING GOOD, or making what you’re doing FEEL GOOD, b/c it isn’t necessary or logic to ever do things that feel bad.

Which way do you lean?

MOST swing between THE CARROT & THE WHIP w a preference for one, but they’re both rooted in the same thinking.

Self Sabotage. Regret. Challenge. Deprivation. W breaking points of coming up for air for relief.

How effective is it to either move in a slow zig zaggy path where we explain away straying from our plan based on the work that we’ve put in?

Or how sustainable is it to grind our bodies & our being down w mindless physical challenge or perpetual self criticism? As well as the typical deprivation diet that has us ignoring our hunger or the items we love?

It’s not.

BUT…what about THE FEATHER? 🤩

If the understanding is that YOU’RE GOOD & that you MUST FEEL GOOD - & GOOD can be encompassed in supportive choices…

This lovely lady has now lost 40.8 lbs to date!

Kind of CASUALLY too.

W less than ideal circumstances, major disruptions, & THREE YOUNG CHILDREN to coach, cart around, & cater to. 🙃

AMAZING!

She is now 150 lbs, a weight that she hadn’t seen, “since her TWENTIES”! 😳

These photos are just under 4 months, & 50 lbs apart.

What I LOVE (about every part of this lovely lady’s transformation) is that she simply kept

SHOWING UP.

Following the plan.

Listening to my suggestions.

Sharing when she had Qs or a conflict w LIFE & her carb feast schedule. 🙌

She listened to her body.

She learned to slow down @ meals.

She found where full was.

Noticed when she didn’t have quite enough.
