Such an incredible opportunity to attend the Horses and Humans Research Foundation conference in Florida this weekend! 🐴💙

Continuing to learn, grow, and stay connected to the latest research in the world of horses and humans is so important to me and the work I do. Grateful to be part of a community that’s advancing evidence-based knowledge and deepening our understanding of the horse–human connection. ✨

Story time feels different when your audience has four legs and the gentlest soul. 📖🐴

Little readers and our boy Prada create something truly meaningful at the barn. These quiet sessions are intentionally designed to support emotional regulation, build self-confidence, and nurture communication skills in a calm, grounded environment.

Watching a child relax, connect, and grow, one page at a time, is the heart of our work. 💛✨

Melvin came to us because he wasn’t considered “perfect.” His nose wasn’t the right color.

But here at Sunnyside Farm, perfection isn’t the goal, safety is. Patience is. Belonging is. We teach that kindness matters. That quiet matters. That trust is built slowly, in the presence of feeling seen and safe.

This shy, skittish boy who once wasn’t “right” has slowly learned to trust… and now, in his quiet, gentle way, he helps our clients do the same. 🐑🤍

Learning compassion, understanding suffering, and practicing empathy—taught by a six-year-old 💛
When Tank is in the hospital, our kids learn that caring for others can be simple, sincere, and sometimes involve a homemade card. 🖍️💌
A sweet reminder that empathy is something we practice, not just talk about. Sending all of our love to Tank. 🐮✨

Tank is a favorite at the farm 🤍 He is the sweetest cow, and truly shows my clients what resilience and courage look like. One of my favorite client quotes is, “Tank has so much going on physically and he still is so happy”. Please share, we are so honored to be his home and provide him this care.

FREE VIRTUAL GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP hosted by SeansDream and Milo’s Mission

Please feel free to share the social media flyer about future meetings with anyone you believe would benefit from them.

Our next meeting is scheduled for February 18th. Lillian and I have decided to keep all meetings as virtual until June when we have an in-person meeting in Warwick at SunnySide Farm so we can all get the opportunity to connect in person!

We have also extended the meeting time from 6:30-8 pm so that we have enough time to hear from everyone at our own pace. You are not required to stay for the whole meeting; we are happy to have you attend as long as you can.

As a reminder, this is a “come as you are” group. We understand that life is busy, if you are in pajamas, eating dinner, having kids in the background or any other accommodation to make this work for your schedule COME AS YOU ARE... Good vibes are not required! Please see the link below to sign up

2025 held so many quiet moments that mattered. Slowing down, showing up gently, and creating space for people to simply be. So grateful for every person, animal, and connection that made this year what it was. Thank you for being part of this year. 🤍🐴

I don’t think horses were ever meant to be just animals.
I think they were a gift.
Placed gently in our lives by a God who knew
exactly how much our hearts would need them.

Because God knew there would be days
when words wouldn’t be enough.
Days when prayers felt heavy.
Days when the world would move too fast
and our souls would struggle to keep up.

So He gave us horses.

He gave us a creature
strong enough to carry our weight
and gentle enough to carry our pain.
A being that doesn’t ask for explanations,
doesn’t rush healing,
doesn’t need us to be anything
other than honest.

God knew we’d need a place to breathe.
So He gave us barns.
Quiet aisles.
Early mornings and golden evenings
where the noise of the world fades
and His presence feels closer.

He gave us horses
who feel our emotions before we speak them.
Who meet our fear with patience.
Who answer our brokenness with stillness.
Who teach us trust
without ever saying a word.

There are moments with horses
that feel like prayers in themselves—
a warm muzzle resting against your chest,
a steady breath matching your own,
a quiet ride where the only sound
is hoofbeats and your heart finally slowing down.

And in those moments,
you realize:
this is holy ground.

God blesses us with horses
to teach us things we might never learn otherwise.
Patience.
Humility.
Gentleness.
Faith.

He teaches us that strength doesn’t have to be loud.
That power can exist alongside softness.
That healing often comes slowly,
one quiet moment at a time.

He gives us horses
to walk with us through seasons—
childhood dreams,
growing pains,
heartbreak,
motherhood,
loss,
and becoming.

Some horses stay for a lifetime.
Some only for a chapter.
But every one of them
leaves fingerprints on our souls.

And even when we lose them,
even when the barn feels emptier
and our hearts ache,
we still see God’s blessing in the love we were given.
Because not everyone gets to know
a bond that deep.
A love that pure.
A connection that changes who you are forever.

I believe God knew
exactly what He was doing
when He created horses.

He knew we’d need something
that reminded us to slow down,
to listen,
to trust,
to feel.

Something that would draw us closer
to creation,
to peace,
and to Him.

So when I thank God for my blessings,
I thank Him for horses—
for the healing they bring,
the lessons they teach,
and the way they lead us back
to what truly matters.

Because horses aren’t just part of our lives.
They are part of God’s grace toward us—
a reminder that even in a loud world,
He still speaks softly.

And sometimes…
He speaks through a horse.
