Bayview Pharmacy, a compounding pharmacy located in Warwick, Rhode Island, is seeking a full-time Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a valued team member, the Pharmacy Technician will support the pharmacist by preparing medications and other healthcare products for patients.
Objectives of this role:
- Prepare medications and healthcare products for patients with accuracy and attention to detail
- Support the pharmacist in ensuring efficient and effective processing of prescriptions
- Maintain the quality, security, and efficiency of services by following pharmacy processes and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with patients, doctor's offices, and insurance companies
Responsibilities:
- Measure and prepare dosages of medications according to prescription orders
- Process prescriptions using computer software and maintain accurate records of medication information
- Label and package medication and other healthcare products
- Monitor storage and inventory of medications and supplies and process shipments as needed
- Make and answer phone calls from patients, doctor's offices, and insurance companies
- Upon certification as a Pharmacy Technician II, assist in making and preparing customized medications for patients
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in pharmacy or related fields (preferred but not required)
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
