Today in feeding therapy, we turned FOOD into art 🎨💙

We explored light blue paint, dyed our vanilla frosting to match, and used crackers as stamps to create masterpieces. What looked like simple play was actually an important step in the feeding journey!

For many kids, comfort with food doesn’t start with taking a bite. It starts with:
👀 Looking at it
👃 Smelling it
✋ Touching it
🎨 Playing with it
👅 Tasting when they’re ready

Sensory exploration builds safety. When children are allowed to experience food without pressure, their brains and bodies learn that food is predictable and safe. That safety is what eventually leads to trying and enjoying new foods.

Levi has been such an awesome kiddo to get to know over the past year. He has been working on speech sounds, reducing rate of speech, and now some oral motor exercises, which are all difficult things - but he gives it a shot each time without fail. His humor is one of my favorites and I always look forward to our sessions! Keep up the amazing work, Levi! I am so proud of you. - Julia
