This morning, a patient of mine, who had suffered from daily trigeminal nerve pain for the past 7 years, told me she had no pain for 5 days after the one session of acupuncture treatment. She also complimented me as a miracle worker. I was so glad that I could help her. In fact , the miracles happened through our bodies, which have a huge healing power to help ourselves. Acupuncture offers the key to open the sesame door to the world of healing .

There is a Chinese saying that "hot in the third volt", and "great heat" is generally in the middle stage of "three volts". The first day of “great heat” generally starts between July 22 to 24 every year and will last for about 15 days. During this period, most areas in the northern atmosphere are in the hottest stage of the year, that is, the “Great Heat”. Traditional Chinese medicine considers it the best time to treat winter diseases during “great heat” such as chronic bronchitis, arthritis , asthma ….。
Have a great summer!

Varicose veins
Varicose veins are very popular for women due to bearing children or for people who stand a lot like teachers, nurses. Most people have no symptoms, some may have leg pains.
Traditional Chinese Medicine consider varicose veins as blood stagnation, which could slow the blood moving from veins to hearts. In severe case, the blood clots may form in the varicose veins.
For those who suffer from varicose vein, here are some tips you may try:
one hour before bed, you may try to soak your feet in warm water, let water level immerse around your knees for about 15 minutes. After the soaking, you may put you feet up against the wall (see a picture)for about 15 minutes, which allow the blood in your leg to circulate back to your heart.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Have a happy, healthy new year!

Today is the Winter Solstice which officially marks the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
The Winter Solstice is an important time for the Chinese nation. Chinese people treat the Winter Solstice as a "Winter Festival", or “Little New Year", etc.
In the north of China, almost every household eats dumplings on the Winter Solstice
You may wonder why people eat dumplings on the winter Solstice and where does this tradition come from? There was a story behind it .
This story was about an ancient famous Chinese physician Zhang Zhongjing.
Zhang Zhongjing was a Chinese pharmacologist, physician and writer of the Eastern Han dynasty. His book 巜Theory of Typhoid Miscellaneous Diseases》 is a collection of great works of doctors and he made a great contribution to the traditional Chinese Medicine. He was considered as one of the most eminent Chinese physicians during the the Eastern Han dynasty
About 2,000 years ago, on one Winter Solstices day, Zhang Zhongjing saw that many village people's ears were frozen and rotten. He asked his helpers to set up a medical shed and big pots. He cooked the mutton and some warming herbal medicines in the pots, then took out the mutton and medicines and minced them as dumpling stuffings. Then, He made many dumplings. After cooking , he gave the dumplings and a large bowl of broth to each person who suffered from frostbites.
After eating the dumplings and drinking the soup, people felt warm all over, their ears were hot, and frostbite ears were cured.
From then on , the tradition of eating dumplings in north China on Winter Solstice carries on from one generation to another. This tradition is mainly for memorizing the great physician—Zhang Zhongjing .
Happy Winter Solstice and stay warm!
