December 2025 Home delivered meals Menu For Bayfield County (except Cable area)

Eligibility
Individuals requesting home-delivered meals will be assessed to determine their need for nutrition and other services. In general, the following individuals are eligible to receive:
• A person aged 60 or older who is frail and essentially homebound by reason of illness, disability, or isolation.
• A spouse of a person eligible for a HDM as described above, regardless of age or condition.
• A person with a disability, under age sixty (60), who resides in housing facilities with others
• A disabled individual who resides at home with an eligible older individual participating in the program.

"Pride plus minimization leads to resistance. There was almost nothing I could recommend to my mother that she didn’t initially reject. She resisted my efforts to hire personal care aides or get home-delivered meals for her. She balked at my suggestion to economize to stretch her paltry savings. She was furious when I took control of organizing her pill box."

Supporting my mother as she grew older meant facing pride, minimization and resistance. The key to a healthier relationship was empathy
