I pulled out this sweet pic from last summer to remind us how abundant and beautiful Summer is on the South Shores of Lake Superior. 🌸🌊🙏🏼❤️

Birth workers I know you! I see you and understand that you put your heart, soul and body into your work. I know how sacred your work is, and how vital it is for you to fill your cup!!

I have been dreaming up this special version of a retreat for years, and it will be on the heels of my return from Bali and the 33rd Triennial ICM Congress and an Advanced Doula Training with Ibu Robin Lim, Debra Pascali- Bonaro, Jennie Joseph and Dr. Sarah Buckley. !!!

I will be so full of birth worker wisdom and joy, and eager to share it with you.

I’ve always been intrigued by perinatal psychology and believe it is deep, unknown and important in ways we can’t fully appreciate. One of my beloved colleagues from Frontier, Heather Clarke is presenting. This lifelong learner is excited!!! 😁

I just donated to this worthy non-profit that my dear friend Heidi Howes helped create in Colombus, Ohio. Having been a single mom for many years, I know how hard it can be. I find myself in those shoes again, but with many more resources than I had in my 20's. I will always do what I can to support single moms, who are the true freaking sheros.

It's , a new day of global giving and a way to come together to support organizations and the communities they serve. In times of uncertainty, the power of collective action is vital to helping stabilize communities and move them forward.⁣ We know this intimately at Motherful because we are BY single moms, FOR single moms.
⁣
At Motherful, we know that doing it alone is unsustainable. Our mission is, and has always been, driven by people working together to create support, empowerment, and nurturing for single mothers and their families.⁣
⁣
Right now we are working to create mutual aid and food security with our Community Garden Project, our Food Pantry, and the Motherful Emergency Fund. We are also staffing our organization for the first time, creating jobs for single moms, and we have ongoing self care programming via zoom.

On this day of global generosity, we ask you to give what you can to help us meet the needs of single mothers in Central Ohio, to bring relief to the families that are struggling the most.

I am so excited to unveil a project baby that is 5+ years in the making.... the Indigenous Childbirth Educator; Training, Mentorship, and Certification Program!

The vision of this program, from the beginning, is to lift up our aunties and helpers, to build capacity from within, as we collaboratively gather skills in service of pregnant & parenting families.

Instructors include a team of Indigenous midwives and birthkeepers, maternal-child health workers, experts in social issues throughout Indian country, traditional healers and community families.

We are committed to crafting an opportunity that is free of the typical barriers and burdens that all too often distract and discourage. This program is offered at no cost to participants and no prior experience is required. We believe in YOU!

This is a hybrid program;
-All sessions held virtually from September 2020-May 2021
-One on-site gathering to be held in King County, WA (May 2021)
-Followed by continued in-community mentorship

Limited space available, WA State applicants will be prioritized.
