Update:

Interventive Therapy Available throughout Phased "Re-Opening"

Greetings Wellness Family,

Many of you reading this letter today are amongst those of whom I have had the pleasure of serving on a weekly or monthly basis and are partaking in the benefits of being a standing member here at Heart of the Lotus Therapeutics, some of whom I have the privilege of serving on an as need basis, and some of you reading this today are learning about Heart of the Lotus Therapeutics for the first time.

To each and every one of you; I hope and pray you and your families are all doing well and are all being well provided for emotionally, physically, and spiritually through these times.

As of May 11th, Governor Tom Wolf posted new guidelines for PA residents and businesses and has begun launching his plans to Re-Open Pennsylvania. Many PA counties have moved from Red Phase to Yellow Phase. Their Medical Offices and Healthcare Practitioners have once again begun to see their patients on a Non-Urgent basis. This is great news, and a wonderful sign we are moving closer to a new tomorrow!

I am sad, however, to report Massage Entities, although some (mine included), are considered Medical Offices/Health Practitioners by our National/Federal Classification System (NAICS Massage Therapists Offices:621399), have, currently, been asked to refrain from seeing patients on a non-urgent basis until the county in which they operate move into Green Phase.

As a Licensed Massage Therapist practicing in Bucks County, PA for over 15 years, a fellow healthcare provider, and a fellow massage patron, I agree with our governor's decision to keep massage entities closed across the industry for non-urgent matters until the virus is better contained. Due to the nature of massage therapy in combination with the various types of establishments statewide, there could easily be a high level of transmission if the practice and conditions were not adequately created and kept. I understand the difficulty from a government level to quickly and effectively pin point and divide entities within the Massage Therapy Industry, for this pandemic, without causing confusion, and thus without compromising public health. With all we are learning through this time, I am hopeful all industries, including the massage therapy, will form more thorough classification systems in combination with clear codes and policies so that we will be in a better position for continued service in the event an outbreak would ever occur in our communities again.

For many reasons, with great joy and hope, I look forward to the day this virus is contained. You can trust, your care and our return to being able to freely call upon and enjoy ALL the benefits of Bodywork once more is towards the very top of my list!

Some of you may be aware, Bucks County to date remains in Red Phase (https://www.pa.gov/guides/responding-to-covid-19/ ). Though our timeline for moving into Green Phase is unknown, we can rest on the simple fact, we get closer everyday!

Cherished patrons, please know, although my office, until further notice, remains closed for non-urgent matters, in continuance with my previous updates:

The Office Will Remain Opened and Therapy Continues to be Available to You if at Anytime you Feel Your Level of Tension, Discomfort, or Pain Becomes/or is Becoming difficult for you to effectively manage at home without care .

Since March 16, 2020 to current, I have been putting proven protocols into practice to ensure health and safety, and to reduce the risk of spreading the virus to those desiring continued care while the virus is being contained; including: Health and Travel Screenings, Mask Policies, High Quality Disinfectants and Disinfecting Practices, Hand Washing and Hygiene Ethics, Social Distancing Practices, an Elite 4-in-1 HEPA Air Purifier with UV Sanitizer in treatment facility etc.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at any time with questions you may have about your health or my practice.

I truly miss seeing all of you and look forward to the day we meet again!

Until then, Blessings of Peace & Wellness,
Stay Safe ~ Stay Well

April is Stress Awareness Month : Take Some Time

April is Stress Awareness Month and we can probably all agree that we're dealing with a lot more stress than usual. Here are some ways we can work to manage that stress with techniques and resources that can be put to use immediately.

Exercise

While physical distancing is imperative for most of us, that doesn't mean you can't get outside for some exercise. Taking regular walks can help to boost endorphins which can help reduce tension and anxiety. There are so many health benefits that can be achieved in the long-term by incorporating a 30-minute walk into your day but you can feel immediate effects in your mood and stress levels. So put together the perfect playlist, slip into some comfy sneakers, take in some fresh air and enjoy yourself.

Limit Stimulants

Once again, good advice for any time but you might find it especially helpful in our current environment. For many people, stimulants like caffeine, alcohol, and ni****ne can increase anxiety and amplify stress. It can even mess with your ability to get a good night's sleep.

Sleep

Speaking of sleep - get yourself on a sleep routine and stick to it. While it might be tempting to throw normal routines out the window right now - doing the opposite and buckling down with your routine can go a long way to help fortify you to roll with the stresses you can't avoid right now. Get your eight hours whenever possible.

Make a List

Organize the things you need to get done. They'll seem so much more manageable when you stare them down and have the ability to strike-through each item when it's accomplished.

Be Kind to Yourself

You might find yourself caring for so many people right now that you've forgotten to care for yourself. You might find yourself on your own and overwhelmed. Remember that you're dealing with a lot right now and find some ways to be kind to yourself. Reach out to friends and family over the phone or through a video call. Take a warm bath. Learn a new skill. All of these things will help you better manage stress.

Office Update 2 : Covid-19 : Medical Necessity

Greetings Wellness Family,

In response to the mitigation efforts taking place throughout the commonwealth and surrounding area, I have been hard at work remaining up to date and studying all recommendations and orders.

After receiving recommendations from the American Massage Therapy Association and thoroughly reviewing the March 17, 2020 Wolf Administration Business Guidance for COVID-19 Mitigation Efforts, the office will remain opened and continue to be available for the physical and emotional needs of our community.

Many rely upon their relationship with their massage therapist to help manage significant myoskeletal and emotional imbalances. Without this care some are at risk for returning to levels of dysfunction that could substantially hinder their daily function and cause significant/disabling neurological pain.

While ensuring strict adherence to the social distancing, frequent hand washing, and clean surface CDC recommendations, I will be providing a safe and therapeutic environment for specific individuals in need of the type of therapies that will continue to help manage pain and well-being.

If any changes to our national, state, or county recommendations occur, I will gladly keep you informed.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, or would like to request further information.

Peace & Wellness,
